Chapter 86 Beyond power and promise
Gojo was beaten nearly to death by Abornim. He now truly understood that his Infinity technique was only effective against those weaker or at the same power level as him.
Abornim broke through his defenses with ease—none of Gojo's attacks, not even his Hollow technique, worked.
"Sigh... you were fun while you lasted," Abornim said, lifting Gojo by the head. Gojo's face was covered in blood, his hands broken, and his body pushed to its limit.
"...Cough... cough... You will... be defeated... eventually," Gojo struggled to say, thinking of those kids—Itadori, Megumi—whom he still had hope in. They might be able to kill this monster if given enough time.
"Don't you get it? No one... I repeat, no one can defeat me," Abornim said with a grin. Just then, he noticed something falling in front of him.
The shape and size made Abornim's expression change to one of fear.
"A nuclear weapon... your government... are they insane?" Abornim shouted angrily, tightening his grip on Gojo's head.
"We're all a little sick..." Gojo forced out with a smile, despite the pain.

Gojo's head exploded into a pulp as the nuclear bomb detonated.

It was the second day, and Kai and Muchen still hadn't seen those two again. Their ranks had climbed, and they were now among the top 4,000.
"Finally, we're both at the peak," Muchen said, stretching as he looked at their ranks.
"Yeah, we're in the top 4,000... but we're still not number one in our region," Kai said with a frown.
(Host: Muchen. Rank: 3500. Number: 9)
(Host: Kai. Rank: 3510. Number: 8)
"Yeah, about seven people are stronger than usin our region," Muchen said with a grin.
Being reborn had shown him a different side of life. Originally, he was born in the immortal world, cherished and served by everyone. He was talented, but he had lacked experience with real life, which held him back in reaching an important realm.
During his breakthrough to the Immortal God King Realm, his lack of experience led him to make a mistake. Though he did achieve the breakthrough, it came at a cost—it was unstable. Soon after, a war broke out between two immortal families, pulling him into the conflict.
In the battle, he and a female enemy were pulled into a space rift, where they both died. However, at their level, they had the potential for rebirth.
"Kai, the world is much bigger, much more dangerous, and deadlier than you think... we're not alone," Muchen said with a grin.
"Hm, what do you mean?" Kai asked, confused.
"There are other worlds out there... many with powerful people. Do you think we can beat them all?" Muchen said, a slight smile on his face. He had decided to take this boy as his true friend, to show him the world by his side. But first, he wanted to see how Kai would respond.
"The first step in failing is doubting yourself... Muchen. Even if there are worlds above this, heaven and hell, the netherworld and paradise... to have fun, to get stronger, I'll go everywhere. And I'm saying this from my heart. But if you don't believe in yourself, then you can't be my brother... don't follow me with those doubts," Kai said as he moved forward.
"Well said, boy... well said," Muchen said with a smile, following him.
"Hey, wait up!" Muchen hurried to catch up but then saw Kai crouched down, looking at something.
Muchen snuck up from behind and grabbed Kai's ear.
"Hey... shh, just watch," Kai said with a smile. He was happy that his new friend shared his ambition for power.
Muchen looked forward, surprised. In front of them was a familiar face that sent chills down his spine. It was his old enemy, Su Yiren—the talented daughter of destiny of the Su Immortal Family.
...boom...
A beast fell as the woman turned toward Kai and Muchen, steadily walking in their direction.
"Kai... Kai..." Muchen kept tapping Kai's shoulder.
"Muchen... we've been spotted. Don't make any expression... no matter what she says next," Kai said seriously.
"...Kai, you know her?" Muchen asked, shocked.
Kai didn't reply but stood and walked forward. Muchen quickly followed.
"That was a Stage 5 Qi Refinement beast. What stage are you at now?" Su Yiren asked with a chuckle.
"What the... did this beast just chuckle? I must be dreaming," Muchen thought, staring at Su Yiren.
"Well, peak of Body Building," Kai said with a frown.
"Haa... husband, you're too weak. At this rate, you won't be able to marry me," Su Yiren smirked.
Kai shrugged and walked past her. Su Yiren smiled at Muchen. "Oh, she definitely remembers me," Muchen thought, following Kai.
When Muchen and Su Yiren passed each other, she finally spoke up. "Listen... I will still kill you," Su Yiren threatened.
"Likewise," Muchen said coldly, catching up with Kai.
After they were gone, Su Yiren smiled to herself.
"Muchen... oh, Muchen... why is your breakthrough this slow... what are you planning?" Su Yiren thought with a smile.
***********
Kai and Muchen soon came across two people fighting. It was the same huge boy and cold girl they had encountered before.
"Brother, stop trying to steal my kills," the girl said with a frown.
"Well, my strength beats your ice power, so... it's fair, little girl," the huge boy replied.
The girl snorted in anger. The boy suddenly looked in another direction and smiled. "Sis, we have company," he chuckled.
"Oh," the girl turned around. "Right... when did I start calling you brother... we're just friends, you idiot."
"Hah, my charm. But seriously, you're too weak to be my friend," the boy replied.
The girl gritted her teeth, unable to respond.
Kai and Muchen walked over. "Hey, how are you guys doing?" Muchen asked with a smile. The huge boy and the girl exchanged glances before looking at him.
"We're fine... and why are you here?" the girl said coldly.
"Passing by," Kai replied, uninterested in chatting.
"Making friends, he means," Muchen looked at Kai and gave a thumbs up.
"Make friends with us? No, we don't want weak people," the huge boy laughed out loud.
"Oh," Muchen's expression changed.
"Relax, relax... you can be our friends. We were just joking," the huge boy said with a smile.
"Finally... some friends. Ha... they're not afraid of me and my huge body... this is amazing," the huge boy thought happily.
