An Extra’s Rise in an Eroge

Chapter 82 Amara Harper

Arthur's attention, however, wasn't on Oliver. His gaze remained fixed on the girl standing beside him—the Vice President, Amara Harper.

Amara Harper.

The elder sister of the grumbling girl seated behind him, Luna Harper.

The eldest daughter of the Water Mage Tower Master.

Unlike her sister, Amara wasn't a prodigy. Her talent in magic was merely above average, nowhere near the brilliance that Luna exuded from a young age. But that wasn't why Arthur's focus lingered on her.

Was she beautiful?Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Of course, she was.

This was a world based on an eroge, after all. Here, beauty was a given—every character was either breathtakingly beautiful or devastatingly handsome.

Was she a heroine?

No.

Quite the opposite, in fact.

Amara Harper was a villainess.

Though her current strength was modest, by next year, she would undergo a dramatic transformation. Her power would surge exponentially, enough to stand as a formidable adversary—even against the protagonist, Alex Stale.

Arthur's thoughts traced back to her backstory. How did the elder sister of a heroine become a villainess?

The answer was simple. The younger sister, Luna.

From the moment Luna began showcasing her extraordinary talent, Amara was cast into the shadows.

Neglected by her own family.

Overshadowed by the brilliance of her younger sister.

Their parents, once doting, began to compare them in everything. Luna's achievements were praised and celebrated, while Amara's efforts were dismissed as mediocre. The once-lively home became a stage for constant comparisons, where Amara could never measure up.

Leaving home and coming to the academy had been a blessing for Amara.

Here, no one compared her to anyone.

Her efforts were recognized. Her achievements were praised.

Through sheer determination, she had climbed to the position of Vice President of the Student Council. Students looked at her with respect, not as someone's shadow, but as a capable leader in her own right.

For the first time in years, Amara was happy.

Then what changed?

She fell in love.

With whom?

The hero. Alex Stale.

But her "love" chose her younger sister.

Luna.

That was the breaking point.

The moment she snapped.

The moment she made a desperate decision—to contract with a demon.

Arthur sighed softly, fingers resting against his chin as he recalled her tragic story. In the game, Amara had been portrayed as a ruthless antagonist, a cold and calculating villainess. But her descent into darkness wasn't born from malice or greed—it stemmed from neglect, heartbreak, and betrayal.

"Love sure makes people do crazy things," Arthur murmured, his eyes lingering on Amara's stoic figure for a moment longer. Beneath her composed exterior lay a fragile heart, scarred and twisted by years of pain.

"Her life is miserable," he whispered under his breath, feeling a twinge of sympathy.

A girl who had been driven to the edge by circumstances beyond her control. A villainess not by choice, but by circumstance.

Arthur shifted his attention to the next figure in line. Noah Blake, the eldest son of the powerful Blake Duchy. Known as a rare genius in strategy and tactics, he was also the right-hand man of the second prince, Oliver Hestia.

Standing beside him was Scarlett, a prodigy in summoning magic. Despite her commoner origins, she had clawed her way to the top of the academy's hierarchy, earning a coveted position in the Student Council through sheer talent and relentless determination. Her expression remained composed, exuding quiet confidence.

And finally, at the end of the line stood Emily Ludwig—Arthur's sister.

Unlike the others, Emily's stern façade quickly crumbled due to her cheerful nature. She waved enthusiastically, her cheerful smile entirely out of place amidst the serious demeanor of her fellow council members. Arthur sighed, averting his gaze in mild embarrassment.

Can't she contain her excitement even for a moment? He thought.

The introductions wrapped up just as Arthur finished recalling the backstories of each council member. Their roles, both in the academy and in the grander plot, were now fresh in his mind.

"I hope you all understood the instructions," Oliver's voice echoed through the hall, snapping Arthur out of his thoughts. The Student Council President scanned the audience with a scrutinizing gaze. "If anyone has questions, now is the time to ask." Experience exclusive tales on empire

A tense silence settled over the room.

No one moved. No one spoke.

Oliver waited a moment longer before giving a satisfied nod. He clapped his hands once, the sharp sound cutting through the stillness.

"Clap!"

"No questions?" he asked, a hint of amusement in his tone.

"Excellent."

With that, a subtle smile graced his lips. "I hereby conclude the entrance ceremony. Welcome to Arcane Academy."

The audience erupted into applause, the sound reverberating through the grand hall as the official start of their academy life began.

As the applause faded, students began to stand, their chatter filling the grand hall. Arthur stayed seated for a moment, watching the council members leave the stage.

Emily wasted no time. She broke away from the council and headed straight for him, her face glowing with excitement.

"Arthur!" she called, waving with no hesitation.

Arthur sighed softly but smiled. Here we go…

"Hey, Emily," he greeted as she reached him, her energy contagious despite his calm expression.

"You were amazing up there!" Emily beamed, practically bouncing. "Top of all three departments? You're making the Ludwig name shine brighter than ever!" She leaned in with a playful grin. "Father will be thrilled."

Arthur shrugged. "I just did what I had to."

Emily rolled her eyes. "At least act a little proud."

As they exchanged playful words, a familiar voice joined them.

"Hi, Sister Emily!" Alicia greeted warmly.

"Oh, Alicia!" Emily smiled and gave her a hug. "Good to see you!"

"Hey, don't forget me!" Cedric added with a grin.

"Yeah, yeah…" Emily waved him off before her eyes landed on Kaela.

"And who's this?"

Arthur stepped in. "This is Kaela. She's our new friend."

Emily smiled. "Nice to meet you, Kaela."

"Nice to meet you too," Kaela replied politely.

Emily clapped her hands. "Since we're all here, let me give you a tour of the academy"

Arthur opened his mouth to say no, but Emily had already grabbed his arm.

"Come on, you can't say no! You'll love it."

"Emily—" Arthur started, but she wasn't listening.

"You're coming," she said firmly, pulling him along.

Alicia, Cedric, and Kaela exchanged amused looks.

"Looks like we're going too," Cedric chuckled.

"Unless we want to be left behind," Alicia added with a grin.

Together, they followed the Ludwig siblings as Emily led the way, her excitement filling the air. Arthur sighed quietly, knowing his sister had taken control of his first day at the academy.
