Book 4: Chapter 137: Storage Items
It was really a short---no, a battle that ended in mere seconds. In the blink of an eye, the training ground was covered with the buzzes of students who had come to watch the match.
Demilia and Georg---both were strong enough to rank among the top 5 among first years, and yet, the same two faced a crushing defeat in this match. To add to that, only a handful of people present there managed to catch traces of Ashuka's movement. For everyone else, Ashuka looked like a ghost that just appeared behind Demilia out of nowhere, let alone understanding how Georg was caught up in threads.
"Lower your weapons, you two. The battle is already over."
As soon as Schultz-sensei's sharp voice echoed in the training ground, Ashuka and Demilia immediately took back their weapon. Demilia lowered his weapon like anyone, but Tenji gave the sword in his hand a shake which released a dim light before returning back to the bracelet.
A bracelet item, it was no wonder Tenji felt something off about him, and sure enough, it turned out to be Ashuka's weapon. The whisper among the onlookers turned into a clamour when they realised it was a storage type item.
This world didn't have storage item like the one that existed in games. In fact, you wouldn't even find them on auction ever. Only a handful of chosen explorers like Leon or Chhisao possessed them. When presented with such an almost otherworldly item, it was bound for Students, who had yet to learn much, to be astonished by that.
Demilia moved in front of Georg and started helping him out to remove those threads. Though, he was unable to untangle them no matter how hard he tried. He found it suspicious and turned his gaze toward Ashuka.
"Hey, they're not getting out."
"Just a second."
Ashuka, who was looking around with curiosity, suddenly recalled about them and approached Georg. He moved his hand and the next moment, the uncanny thread-like things immediately resolved and returned to being the bracelet on his left hand.
Demilia finally realised what had happened. His right hand could summon a sword in an instant, while the left hand was to capture the opponent. But, even he couldn't imagine just how such incredible items managed to find their way in a student's hand.
Everyone present there had the same thought in their mind---Who in the world was his supporter?
"Hey, Ashuka. Who the heck are you? Why do you come here only after Tenji?"
"Alright......say, Ashuka. How about you come with us next tim------"
"Tenji isn't here."
"What?"
Ashuka was searching for the figure of Tenji all this while. He really was eager to know what his fellow countryman---he still couldn't gouge out the depth of Tenji---thought about his strength after watching his battle. Unfortunately, his search met with no result. Instead, it was Pyne who abruptly jumped out from the onlooker and stopped right before him. She answered him with a smile.
"Tenji had some errands to do so left first. He asked me to take over the role of guide from here. What, any objection?"
"So be it."
Although he said that, his face couldn't hide his slight dejection. Well, there was someone who appeared even more dissatisfied than him. Demilia looked like he was forced to eat a bitter medicine when he saw himself being ignored.
From that day onward, the newcomer, and a remarkable prodigy to boot, from japan became the hot topic in the Mallorca Escuela as speculation about his origin, his calling etc began to rise up. At the same time, this also brought up another question to them---why in the world was someone like a swordsman chosen for Mallorca over Ashuka? This doubt began was gradually creep to everyone.
