"I am really sorry, I let my imagination run wild and thought that you had abandoned your parents, making them live in such a place even when you were doing well in your life and were even in the same place."

Mrs Ji held her head low, not daring to look Ye Qian in the eye, feeling too ashamed.

"Haha, I often get that upon first meeting most of the time, and I can't blame anyone for that either, although what you thought was different, I can understand why you were thinking like that."

Ye Qian laughed and waved his hand.

This wasn't the first time that he had been wrongly misunderstood.

The little girl called out while giving a tap on Mrs Ji's thigh as she blindly waved her hand around, trying to catch the girl but to no result.

"Hehe, big sister, stop doing that, or Aunty will catch you like a crocodile."

Xiao Ya who was now sitting on a grandma's lap giggled while cheering for Mrs Ji.

"Aunty, at your left, Big Brother Zhimen is there!"

"Haah, caught you!"

Mrs Ji called out after a while, finally catching someone.

As she removed the blindfold from her eyes, she saw a small figure giggling with her tongue out.

"Hehe, Aunty took so long to catch Qiqi."

"Haa, you little girl, didn't you challenge me." Mrs Ji gasped for breath and finally sat on a chair nearby.

"Hehe, okay, now it's Qiqi's turn," the little girl giggled while Xiao Ya clumsily tried to tie the blindfold on her big sister's eyes.

"Ummm."

However, much to her efforts, the little girl wasn't able to and pouted while giving up.

"Xiao Ya, it's alright, you are too small to tie a knot, but you will be able to after seeing it and trying a few times."

Seeing the grumpy look on the little girl's face, a grandpa patted her head.

"Huh, okay, I will try and ask Mom to teach me."

Hearing the little girl, everyone around nodded.

Meanwhile, Ye Qian walked to them.

"Butterfly, Xiao Ya, play with Zhimen and your aunty, I will go get your big sister."

"Okay Papa, bye, Qiqi will wait for you and big sister."

"Me too!" the two girls said and waved their hands.

He then turned to the elderlies and received a nod before walking out of the hall.

"Qiqi, you a big sister as well?"

"Yes, Qiqi's big sister is in first class, next year Qiqi will go to Big sister's school."

The little girl beamed, her eyes sparkling.

"Umm, what about me."

Xiao Ya muttered with a despondent look.

But seeing her like that, Qiqi said.

"Don't worry Xiao Ya, after that you will also join us, and then we will be in the same school for many classes."

"Ohhhh!"

Although the little girl was disheartened by the thought that she would be left alone in the school, and although she had made some friends, she wanted to go and come from school with her big sister and dad.

Grandma Xue then told Mrs Ji how Ye Qian would make trips to and fro often times to the old age home and to Xiao Ya's grandparents so that the girl would also not miss them.

Hearing all this, Mrs Ji couldn't help but gasp.

"Mr Ye and his wife are really good people."

She had seen Ye Qian's house and from the looks of it, she was sure that it wasn't in the best condition and hadn't been renovated in at least a decade, yet having the heart to adopt children while also having their own meant showed their willingness to love and care for them as well.

"We all used to blame him before he returned, but after seeing him treat them, we knew we were all in the wrong."

Grandma Xue sighed with a wry smile on her face.
