From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals

Chapter 426 A curses secret

Nana stepped out of the medical room with Sanguina, the scent of antiseptic lingering in the air. The nurse who had just been caring for her looked on with confusion. "Ar- Are you Lady Nana?"

Nana gave a short bow and stated, "Yes, that's me, though not as short as before. Thank you for the great care you gave me." She offered a warm smile before continuing, "I was wondering, where is everyone else that was injured during the raid on the cave?"

The nurse put a finger under her chin, eyes drifting to the ceiling in thought. "I believe most of everyone has been released, minus the boy named Pegasus and his lady friend who had a dozen stitches and a lot of blood loss. She's awake and all that but is just taking time to recover from the injuries."

Nana nodded thoughtfully. "I see, and what of Pegasus?"

Nana nodded thoughtfully. "I see, and what of Pegasus?"

The nurse's expression turned somber. "He has still yet to wake up. I believe the attack he was hit with had some paralysis components to it. He's been back and forth from being presumed dead and not for a few days now."

Nana gripped her hand and stated, "I see. Well, I do hope he begins to get better. He did so much for us back in the caves; I would hate to see him pass away so young."

The nurse nodded and stated, "I sent a request to get a herbal remedy that is linked to treating paralysis that could help him recover, but everyone in the kingdom is so tied up, no one has been able to assist."

"I see, where are these herbs at anyway?"

"Oh, well, they grow at the base of the west Siccile Mountain. It's usually home to some mountain creatures, so it's rare that anyone would go unless it's assigned by the kingdom or they are being paid well."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Nana gave a slight nod. "I see," she stated. "Perhaps we could be of some assistance. What do you think, Sanguina?"

Sanguina crossed her arms, her expression skeptical. "This sounds way too cliché and boring, I'm not going to lie to you, Nana. Perhaps I can take a look at him and get him healed by turning him into a vampire?"

Nana raised an eyebrow. "First of all, what do you even mean by cliché? Also, how does that even work? And perhaps he doesn't want to be a vampire. Though being alive is better than being dead, I guess."

"It's just something I've seen dozens of times," Sanguina replied. "And while we have some time, I don't know how much time we have to find Erebos before he does any more damage. Turning him into a vampire is as simple as placing a bite on him and passing some of my blood cells through his veins. They attack his blood cells and convert them to vampire blood cells. It would take a while to kick in."

"Oh wow, that sounds pretty cool. Why doesn't everyone want to be a vampire then?"

Sanguina hesitated. "Uhhh, well, while it sounds cool, 99% will never walk in sunlight again, and the cravings... The cravings are really bad. So there are some really bad downsides for the majority of vampires, especially if you aren't born one."

Nana stated, "I see. Well, in that case, it probably wouldn't take long to retrieve the herb and get it to him. Otherwise, you can take a look at him and see if you can do anything."

Sanguina nodded. "Yes, Nurse," she stated. "Please take us to Pegasus so I might take a look."

The nurse nodded. "Sure, though he is under severe care at the moment, so please be respectful of anyone you run into."

Nana and Sanguina nodded as they followed the nurse down a long hallway. They passed through a set of white double doors before arriving at a screened window. Through the window, they saw Pegasus lying on a bed with a tube in his lower stomach and dozens of needles all around his body, pumping what seemed to be blood and a blue liquid through his veins.

Nana, confused, asked, "Wh-what is the blue stuff going into his veins?"

The nurse shook her head. "Sorry, I can't really disclose anything like that without proper authority. But you can watch from here and pray or do whatever you like. Please, just do not go inside the room as everything is sterilized."

A voice came from behind them as a door slid open. "No worries, Nurse Fiona. Thank you for taking the time to escort the awakened Lady Nana and our new guest, Lady Sanguina, to our friend Pegasus."

Nana and Sanguina turned to see King Griswald, his face lined with wrinkles, covered in small patches of snow and blood, with a few cuts marring his skin.

Nana, confused, asked, "What happened? Why are you bleeding?"

King Griswald, holding a handful of yellow flowers, smiled gently. The nurse stepped forward and took the flowers from his hands. "Lady Nanako, this is not my blood, so do not worry," he said reassuringly. "I did not spend any time cleaning up as I wanted to get these here as soon as possible. A few wolf creatures and mountain frostbites slowed me down a bit, but I'm glad to help.

Pegasus did a lot for me when I failed to be there for those I should have been."

Nana looked at the yellow flowers in the nurse's hands, a glimmer of hope in her eyes. "Thank you for going to such lengths to help Pegasus," she said softly.
