Chapter 301 "You Owe Me One!"
The sun rose with the arrival of the next day, and everyone present in the sect gathered in the middle of an empty ground far behind the manor. Xin Yan and Elysia looked at Noah, waiting for him to start the process.
"Did you send your disciples away?" Noah looked at Wuhan before asking. He had been out of the sect with Xin Yan the whole night until now, talking about her ideas. He was surprised how Elysia never came to bother them even once.
"There are times when I wonder if I am even an Emperor or not." Wuhan looked into the distance with a hurt look on his face.
"Can't we throw this fool out of the Sect? He can be a guard for us outside." Xin Yan suggested with a genuine smile, which made her words even more scary.
"What did I ever do to you, woman? You are acting like I stole your child or something." Wuhan scoffed at Xin Yan, even though he was a little scared of her, he tried his best to not show it on his face.
"You did something worse." Xin Yan's eyes turned chilly as she glared at the man, causing him to look away.
"Yeah, I sent them all on 'sect mission' as you wanted me to." He looked at Noah and changed the topic. "That little girl was very difficult to send away."
"Hmm? Did Song Liu not want to leave this place?"
"Nah, it was her guard who did not want her young miss to face the dangers of the world." Wuhan rolled his eyes, recalling how Shisan tried to threaten him.
"So what did you do?" Noah asked as he started looking around and tapping his feet at several places as if checking something.
"I just sent her together with the girl. With her personality, little Liu would definitely try to complete the task by herself, and even that little guard has to listen to her because she is kind of her weakness." Wuhan replied with a proud look on his face as if he had accomplished a heavy feat.
"Look at you all acting like villains, manipulating people and cooking up schemes." Xin Yan chimed in with a teasing look on her face. Even Noah grinned seeing the smug look on Wuhan's face vanish in an instant.
"Hmph!" Wuhan snorted in response before looking at Noah. "What are you doing? Looking for water?" Explore more stories with empire
"I am looking for the right place to perform the ritual." Noah stopped tapping his feet and looked at Wuhan before adding. "This place would do."
"What kind of ritual? You are not going to do something shady in this area, are you?" Wuhan glared at Noah sharply.
"Whatever I am about to do is something you should not know, but since you are adamant on watching…." Noah rolled his eyes hearing his words. "You have to be careful about not telling anyone about it."
"What do you mean?" Seeing the serious look on Noah's face, Wuhan became serious as well.
"You see, I am going to cultivate a special technique, and that might cause some ruckus in the area, so I am going to place some array formations so that they cannot see anything and just think that someone is breaking through here." Noah gave him the gist of what was going to happen without giving him the whole truth.
"You want me to keep them away?" Wuhan looked at Noah as if he was seriously asking him to guard the place.
"Even though I can hide what's happening in the area to a certain extent, I cannot stop the consumption of qi from the surroundings. So just use your power to cover the news and keep the area guarded." Noah expressed his plans, and the frowning look on Wuhan's face still did not decrease at all.
Seeing this, Noah had no choice but to use the thing that Wuhan was waiting for him to use, "Fine, you will only owe me once after this."
"Deal!" hearing Noah's words, Wuhan's frown vanished at a speed as if it was never there in the first place. He looked at Noah with a sly smile on his face, as if he had won something big. With the same grin on his face, he rose to the skies and sent some instructions through the talisman to his most trusted force, and sealed the whole area.
Shaking his head, Noah started placing seals in the surroundings; all the area within a mile radius was covered in the seal. While Noah was working on placing the rest of the seals, Elysia flew towards Xin Yan, who was looking at Noah's work with a smile on her face.
"You seem to be smiling a lot since last night! Does getting that thing make you this happy?" Elysia poked at Xin Yan's cheeks and asked with a dissatisfied look in her eyes.
"You have no idea!" Xin Yan replied with a wide smile on her face, causing the green-haired woman to snort.
"Whatever, make sure to not make any idiotic mistakes in the future, and you owe me one for last night," Elysia said.
Xin Yan nodded at first before wanting to say something, but seeing Elysia's eyes glowing dangerously, she stopped herself.
"I let you get a hug from him, owing me one is the least you can do!" She said before ignoring her and looking at Noah.
*Sheng!* *Sheng!* *Sheng!*
*Shaa!*
Veils of illusionary lights launched up in the air, with the top open, the entire area was now sealed. Noah looked at his work, checking for any mistakes and openings. Not finding any problems with it, he sat down in the middle of the seals.
He looked at Xin Yan and Elysia for the last time with a smile on his face before closing his eyes and thinking.
'I just hope this experiment is successful. This is my entire life's work, just for this moment. If this goes as I planned, I can finally see her again.'
With hope and confidence in his research filling his heart, Noah started the process of creating his new body.
