The old man dean appeared in front of the crippled old man. The crippled old man was lying in his recliner chair, eyes closed.

Sensing the dean's presence, he opened his eyes and casually looked at him.

"What happened this time?" he asked.

"Did that brat escape again?"

The dean composed himself before replying, "Vincent Carey is doing fine. But something else has popped up."

He then explained about the deceased Transmutation Wizard. Initially calm, the crippled old man's lazy demeanor vanished as he listened intently, sitting up straight.

The dean observed the elder's expression intently. About ten minutes later, he finished explaining his troubles and waited for the crippled old man's reaction.

On the other hand, the crippled old man appeared calm, but his mind raced with thoughts.

"He shouldn't have killed him," the crippled old man stated.

"Gilbert said the Transmutation Wizard attacked him first. He also told me the wizard was acting on instinct," the dean replied.

"I've heard the same from Gilbert. So clearly, it's not Gilbert's fault. He was just protecting himself," he added.

Both remained silent. The dean was starting to feel nervous. He had expected positive news, but the elder wore a solemn expression. This was unlike his demeanor when the three hostile forces plotted to eliminate Vincent Carey.

The crippled old man looked into his eyes, seeing through his thoughts. "Go and report to others as well. Then tell me about their opinions later," he said.

The dean nodded and left the room. Once alone, the crippled old man's expression turned worrisome. "One after another, troubles keep coming up. I hope the next generation grows faster," he mumbled. No one could hear his words in the silent subspace.

...

Bloodline Hall's Sub Space:

The Female Magic Lord was in seclusion, sitting in a meditative posture with closed eyes. She appeared to be bathed in fire, the flames completely enveloping her body. The flames seemed lively and danced around her.

Suddenly, she sensed someone seeking permission to enter. Without looking, she knew it was the Dean. No one else was permitted to enter this space. She granted him entry.

Shortly afterward, the dean appeared before the young-looking Female Magic Lord. However, he knew full well that she was an ancient, powerful being with a formidable bloodline.

"Brat, it's rare for you to come here," the Female Magic Lord said.

"What happened?" she asked, her gaze fixed on the dean's face.

She could sense that something was deeply troubling him. As far as she knew, the crippled elder had safely returned the troublesome kid to the academy.

The dean didn't hesitate. He began to explain, recounting the same story he had told the crippled old man.

Ten minutes later, the Female Magic Lord exclaimed, "Transmutation Wizard, huh?" A surprised expression crossed her face.

"When was the last time someone appeared in our country?" she muttered to herself.

Then, a thought occurred to her.

"Do you have his corpse?" she asked. Find exclusive stories on empire

Unlike the crippled old man, she had a deep understanding of human anatomy. As a bloodline wizard, she could confirm the presence of Transmutation Magic.

The dean placed the headless body and decapitated head in front of her. Her gaze fell on the corpse as she lifted her hands.

The headless body floated towards her, hovering horizontally. The upper human body and massive lower scorpion body were a sight to behold.

The Female Magic Lord's gaze fixated on the mana core. She conducted a swift analysis based on her experience.

Confirming the mana core's relation to variant flesh magic, she thought, "The flesh magic didn't reject the foreign body."

With a wave of her hand, the headless corpse returned to the dean's feet. "He was indeed a Transmutation Wizard," she stated solemnly. Like the crippled elder, her expression turned serious.

Looking at the dean's haggard and worried face, she sighed. "You've poked a hornet's nest this time. I hope it won't bite back."

"Since the Transmutation Wizard was hiding in an unauthorized place and attacked one of our own," she continued, "we're less likely to encounter trouble. So don't worry too much about it," she said with a reassuring smile.

Hearing this, the Dean nodded his head. However, her words did not alleviate his worries; instead, they intensified them.

The Female Magic Lord pondered for a moment. "Did you inform the crippled elder?" she asked.

"Yes," the Dean replied.

"What was his response?" she inquired further.

"The elder wanted to listen to other opinions first," he answered honestly.

The Magic Lord's eyes flickered. She knew the crippled elder was always prepared for the worst-case scenario. She hadn't expected him to take this matter so seriously. She decided to instruct the Bloodline Hall members to exercise caution outside.

...

The dean left the place. The Female Magic Lord resumed her meditation.

As time passed, the dean informed the Magic Lords of other Wizard Halls. Many were in deep seclusion. He reported to at least one person in each hall to update them on the academy's current situation.

When he arrived at the Taboo Hall's Sub Space, he met with the Female Magic Lord, second in command to the First Magic Lord.

The First Magic Lord was in deep seclusion and could not be disturbed. He informed her of the situation. She was a Magic Lord as well, though slightly weaker than the First Magic Lord.

The Female Wizard displayed a worried expression. Usually reserved, she followed the commands of the First Magic Lord. She assured the dean she would inform the First Magic Lord later.

Thinking of Vincent Carey, she inquired about the latest updates regarding the Wizard Heart Competition.

The dean, understanding her question, answered without revealing too much. He explained that he hadn't received any updates yet but expected some soon.

The Female Magic Lord's eyes flickered, but she didn't make things difficult for the dean. The dean breathed a sigh of relief after leaving the Taboo Hall SubSpace.

He don't want to reveal too much about Vincent Carey.

es not want to say too much about Vincent Carey.
