Chapter 431 – Redo! Synchronization Test!
Max appeared in the white space, a nostalgic place where everything started. His journey to become a streamer only started at this place.
Taking a deep breath, he calmed his nerves and walked to the green area. He made sure that he was in the right condition and warmed his body up.
"Let's start."
The countdown started as the first test obstacle appeared in front of him. He immediately broke into a run. He jumped through the pit using the rope dangling in the middle and quickly climbed the wall by doing a double jump.
What awaited him on the other side of the wall was an area full of wire. The opening was small, and he had to crawl to get past.
But that didn't even stop his movement. When he was nearing the opening, he immediately slid on the ground, clearing the wire quickly. He arrived at the end of the first test in 22 seconds, 12 seconds faster than his first try.
— Holy shiet! He's so fast!
— Is this Breeze's full power? This is beyond fast!
— Who could clear the first test in 12 seconds?! Only Breeze can!
— Spread the words! People have to watch this.
— Watching it live is totally different from watching his edited run. This is beyond crazy
— We're watching a history in the making
"Amazing." Mr. Taka muttered in amazement as he watched the test. "It's just 3 months since then but he has improved a lot. People struggle to be 1 second faster, but he just casually created a new record by finishing 12 seconds faster than his previous record."
"It's not just amazing, it's insane. This is his real ability. Back then, he only played VR for… less than a month, thus he hadn't figured how things work yet. But now, we can finally see his 'real' time and the time when he pushes himself to the limit." Peter added.
"Indeed. And the second test is no different. Or rather, the forest is like Breeze's home." Mr. Taka commented as Max ran across the forest without lowering his speed on the screen.
Balancing on the rock was also not a problem. He just jumped a few times until he reached the end, spending only 38 seconds in the test.
The third test lasted a minute, there was no way to shorten it. Reacting to the laser that was slower than energy bullets were… easy.
Not to mention, Max already knew its trajectory from the last test. The last laser, totaling 30, was the hardest. He had found the gap and jumped, kicking the glass barrier until he reached the top and stayed in position by holding on both sides.
— This is the one that took his legs!
— Go, Breeze! Save your legs!
— Survive, MF!
— He's like a spider on the ceiling. I want to squash him
— This is… really something.
— Jump, Breeze! The laser is here!
'Not yet.' He concentrated hard, seeing the lasers closing in at a fast speed. They would soon arrive at his location. 'Not now. A bit more.'
Last time, he was too hasty to jump and got his legs severed. That was a 2 seconds penalty to regenerate his legs. If he could use the momentum from when he jumped and carry it to the next flaming test, that would be ideal.
And just when the laser touched the glass barrier…
"Now!"
He jumped toward the gap he eyed from the beginning. He twisted his body, trying to create as small of a space as he could to go between the lasers. But avoiding it fully was pretty much impossible. He had to sacrifice his body parts to get past.
And legs were out of question as he had to use them to run. So…
'I just have to sacrifice my side.'
The laser on the left cut his left shoulders. He grunted in pain, as what he felt was 100% real thanks to the special suit and the rating.
Everyone who knew about it gasped. They saw the pained look on his face as he rolled on the ground. The countdown turned to zero and he moved to the next obstacle, a flaming ground. The space was distorted from heat, and Max clearly also felt them.
But, even if there was a burn, his body was healed immediately. The shoulder that was cut by laser earlier had already returned to normal.
"Next!" Max screamed without stopping himself on the track.
— Oooh!
— Wooooh! NEXT!
— The energy! I can feel it from here.
— Breeze is really rushing things as if his life depended on it
— Of course, he is. His WR is on riskn/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Lily covered her mouth with her hands. Unlike the viewers who didn't know the real reason this event was held, she pretty much knew everything. She was happy with his effort, at the same time worried.
"Max…"
"Just watch, Lily." Peter said, patting her head. "I will head to the researcher. If he's done, give him an A-Grade Nutritional Supplement I prepared and a towel. That will make him happy."
"Un. You don't need to tell me, brother."
The test still continued. It was 4 minutes and 25 seconds when he arrived at the eighth test, a minute faster than his first try. The previous tests were a bit hard so he struggled to get past them.
However…
"He's pushing himself. His vital signs are so active. The 100% pain receptor also makes his heart beat faster. Continuing like this might be too dangerous, Mr. Taka."
Doctor Ardi, responsible for watching his vital signs, expressed his worry.
Usually, he would stop the test here and ask the participant to rest. But today was not just a normal synchronization test, but they also had to get the best data to develop a new Capsule.
His eyes glanced at the researchers who were in joy because they got a lot of interesting data before turning back to Mr. Taka.
"After this, I suggest he log out for a while and rest IRL before continuing to the second test. This is my advice as a Doctor."
"I will relay that to him." Mr. Taka nodded and looked at the screen. "The tenth test is here. It will depend on this test whether he can create another news-shattering world record or not. Last time, he's here for 8 minutes. How long will he finish it this time?"
