I Can Extract Game Items

Chapter 127 Spotting A Familiar Face

August arrived home after attending Sophia's parent-teacher meeting. The meeting had been eventful, with teachers commending Sophia's progress and impeccable academic performance.

Despite that August knew he'd need to have an important discussion with Sophia later.

"I have some business to take care of," August said while unbuttoning his shirt.

He glanced at Sophia, who was busy sorting her schoolbooks. "We'll catch up when I get back, alright?"

Sophia nodded, though she looked slightly concerned. "Don't stay out too late, okay?"

"I won't," August reassured her with a small smile.

After a quick change into more functional attire, August opened his inventory panel. The luxury of being able to store extracted items had proven invaluable, especially for situations like this. He put in his helmet and a few other items he'd need for the evening.

Once ready, August hailed a ride to a secluded area far from home. He needed the space to transform into Aleman. Once there, he donned his helmet and pulled up the hood of his long coat, completing the mysterious sci-fi look. His reflection in a nearby window stared back—completely concealed, enigmatic, and formidable.

Satisfied with his transformation, he made his way to Faith Specialist Hospital.

The building loomed large as he approached. Its glass façade reflected the glow of city lights. The place was buzzing with activity; patients, families, and staff moved about. Word of the "miracle man" had evidently spread far and wide, as the entrance was crowded with people hoping to catch a glimpse of him.

As soon as August stepped into the vicinity, murmurs erupted. A sea of people turned in his direction, recognizing the iconic helmet. Before he could take another step, the crowd surged toward him.

"It's him!"

"The guy from the video!"

"Please, my wife needs your help!"

"Over here! My son is sick!"

August raised a hand to calm the crowd, but their desperation drowned out his attempts to speak. Hospital security rushed to intervene, forming a barrier around him.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Let us through!" one of the guards shouted. "Step back, everyone!"

With considerable effort, August managed to slip inside the hospital, shielded by security personnel.

The crowd pressed against the glass doors as he disappeared down a corridor.

A nurse escorted him to a boardroom where the hospital's higher-ups, including Dr. Anderson, awaited him. The room was sterile and minimalist, dominated by a long table at its center.

As August entered, the chatter among the board members ceased. Their eyes were fixed on him, some filled with curiosity, others with skepticism.

"Welcome," Dr. Anderson said, standing up. He was a middle-aged man with blonde hair and a commanding presence. "We've been expecting you."

August inclined his head slightly with his helmet obscuring his expression. He took a seat at the far end of the table with a composed yet enigmatic stature.

"We'd like to discuss the...incident," Dr. Anderson began, carefully choosing his words. "Your actions saved a life, undeniably. But they also raised questions—questions about the nature of the substance you used and its implications."

Another doctor, a younger woman with a sharp gaze, interjected. "What you did was extraordinary, but it also violated several protocols. We need to understand how this works. Is it replicable? Are there risks? Legalities?"

August remained silent for a moment, letting their words hang in the air. Finally, he leaned forward slightly.

"I am Aleman. As you all might already know, my business is called AM Coven. The product I demonstrated in the ICU is a healing solution, capable of repairing physical injuries—fractures, lacerations, internal damage. Anything physical in nature. Its effects are immediate and complete," August's modulated voice rang out.

Dr. Anderson raised a skeptical brow. "Immediate and complete? That's a bold claim. Are there any limitations we should be aware of?"

August nodded, anticipating the question. "Yes, it does not cure diseases or viruses. It is strictly for physical injuries. We've tested it extensively—broken bones, punctured lungs, spinal damage—it works across all cases, provided the condition is purely physical."

There was a murmur among the board members. Dr. Anderson exchanged glances with his colleagues before turning back to August. "This...solution of yours. What's the source? How is it manufactured?"

August leaned back slightly. "The source is proprietary, and its production method is something I cannot disclose. What I can assure you is that it's safe, reliable, and capable of saving countless lives."

Dr. Anderson nodded, seeming to accept the explanation. "And why did you agree to meet with us today, Mr. Aleman? What do you want from us?"

August leaned forward, resting his gloved hands on the table. "It is not what I want from you. It's what I can do for you. Don't get it twisted, your establishment has a lot to gain here. I will supply Faith Specialist Hospital with these healing solutions in wholesale quantities. However, there are conditions."

Dr. Anderson tilted his head with an intrigued look. "Go on."

"First," August said, "the product must not be resold at more than 25% above the price I provide. Second, I expect it to be used equitably. This is not a product to be hoarded for the privileged or wealthy. It must be accessible to those in need."

The younger female board member from earlier raised a question. "And what happens if we don't adhere to these conditions?"

August's voice dropped slightly as his modulated tone carried a subtle edge. "Then our partnership ends. Permanently."

The room grew quiet again as his words sunk in. Dr. Anderson nodded thoughtfully. "And the cost of this product?"

August paused, carefully choosing his words. "Wholesale price will be set at $1,000 per unit. A unit contains five vials. Considering its capabilities, I believe this is more than fair."

The murmurs resumed, louder this time, as the board members deliberated among themselves. Finally, Dr. Anderson spoke. "We agree to your terms, but there's one more question: Will there be products for diseases or viruses in the future?"

August stood with a commanding presence "All in due time, Dr. Anderson. AM Coven will continue to innovate, but for now, this is what I can offer. Save lives with it. That is all I ask."

Dr. Anderson rose as well, extending a hand. "Then we have a deal, Mr. Aleman. Faith Specialist Hospital is honored to be your first partner."

August shook his hand firmly, sealing the deal.

The corridor outside the boardroom was chaotic. The moment August stepped out, a sea of desperate voices surged toward him. Patients and their families, all pleading for his help, shoved against one another, some clutching medical records, others holding pictures of loved ones.

The crowd pressed forward while reaching out their hands, begging for miracles.

These people were either patients admitted within the hospital or families of patients already admitted. They had heard of August's arrival.

"Please, sir, my son needs your help!"

"My wife has been in a coma for six months. You're our only hope!"

"Save my father, please!"

The guards quickly stepped in, forming a barrier around August. Even with their intervention, the desperation was thick.

He scanned the faces around him while moving through. He was sympathetic but he already made a deal with the hospital so he was sure that the healing potion would reach everyone as soon as he began distribution.

His helmet's digitalized display enhanced the chaos, picking up the frantic emotions in every face.

Then his gaze froze.

A familiar figure stood amidst the crowd, pushing and shouting for help. Derrick. His once strong and confident friend was now a shadow of himself.

His eyes were bloodshot and his shoulders slumped as he begged for help. Enjoy more content from empire
