[Eon’s POV: ]

The first exam was difficult for most of us and we couldn’t do as well as we all wanted, or there was some other kind of problem that ultimately resulted in disappointment. It was common for all of us, and something similar happened in the following few days as well.

’The second test was something that came as a surprise for most of us.’

We didn’t think about it since the chances of something like that happening were low already, but all of us who had a common test were placed in a common setting and we had to compete against one another for a set pool of points that were scattered across that artificial land.

Much like the entrance exam there were various places that had a certain kind of task hidden on them and finishing these tasks gave us extra marks.

If someone had a practical paper already, they would have to do hunting or fighting against artificial creations, if someone had a theory exam, they would have to somehow implement the theory questions that were asked of everyone in that particular area within the time limit set for all of them.

’For me who had a basic magic and weapon understanding paper, the setting was a snow covered mountain.’

There, I had to not only hunt a certain number of artificial creatures with certain kind of magic or weapon techniques, I also had to showcase what I had learned and developed after coming to the academy.

’The questions themselves were pretty easy and the creatures were also not that difficult to deal with, but I had to show All that I had leavened and developed after coming to the academy, and I wasn’t really comfortable with that.’

There was a lot that I obtained after coming to the academy, be it my post true awakening powers after the Lakmer war, or the knowledge that we obtained from various places during our other missions, or the knowledge about the divinities, or even the things that I had accidentally created.

There was a lot that I obtained and much of it could be connected with the weapons and magic so, if I had to do my best with showcasing what I had learned… I knew there would be complications on their side.

’Headmaster aside, the others who would have to judge my current self would have to be very careful with their evaluation.’

They would have to spend a long time simply comparing past and present states, but even if they were experts, I knew they wouldn’t be able to understand a few things, so I didn’t show them everything.

My techniques that I developed with sir divine archer being some of them.

’If they see Solnova without knowing what it is, as well as the spells that are created with this energy, they will question a lot of things.’

It may be something as simple as Mana or Aura in common eyes, but for the experts who critically analyse these things, it would be anything but a normal energy.

’There are a lot of things that I still don’t know about myself or my current powers so I cannot show them what I don’t know either.’

Anyway, my second test went well, so it’s all good.

’Rein also did well… or so she says at least.’

She had a Language and Manners paper so I can tell there was something she messed up.

She knew what she did wrong as well and it was embarrassing so she didn’t want to talk about it… and as long as she knew her mistake, I didn’t really have to know about it either.

’The others were pretty much in a similar situation as well.’

While most of us had to compete against one another for better and easier questions in the locations that we were dropped in, many of us even had to fight against one another for the test questions.

’As council members, we didn’t come across many of them but there was still some that we crossed paths with.’

But still, we understood how there were enough questions for us around that place and didn’t waste time fighting on unnecessary things.

The second day passed with frustration. And the third day, where all of us had the paper of our chosen classes, we were panicking…

’The previous two papers weren’t as easy as any of us had hoped for. Some of us were in fact worried about the answers that we did give in the questions that initially seemed simple…’

It was pretty funny how all of them were the most serious on the third day, but it was only at that point that we felt the weight of the tests of the academy.

’The questions aside, the way these questions were asked was no simple thing. They weren’t easy to answer in the first place but with the added complexity of the way they were presented to us, they weren’t easy for us either.’

The third day passed with a strangely devastating blow to us all… be it my superior alchemy paper, or Rein’s energy beast research paper, or Quin’s political science, or even some other paper that the others had… n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

’Most of the papers that we gave, most of the questions that were asked of us, were Ambiguous.’

Some had a written test while some had an oral exam while some had practical or application based tests, and the things asked in these questions were either devoid of a certain meaning, or were so simple that it confused the others greatly.

’They surely answered in the way that they were taught in the classes, or the way they understood those questions with the help of knowledge that they had gained in the classes or by their own readings, but after giving this test, many of them didn’t even stay behind to chat…’

We wanted to ask them how it went for them since it didn’t go so well for us, but there weren’t many present in our usual place.

’They messaged us saying they had something company up, or they wanted to stay by themselves for a while, or something similar, but, they surely didn’t have a good experience with those tests.’

And since we have a test tomorrow as well, at least most of us do, they must be preparing for the test tomorrow… even though they do not know what will be asked in tomorrow’s test.

"What are you doing outside again?"

It was late night and we were in our dorm. But, instead of sleeping, I was on the balcony once again, looking over the scenery before me.

"Well… nothing much."

Rein was sleeping inside, but she walked out again, with the same that she almost-, anyway. She was here.

"Then come back inside. It’s hot outside."

"Is it?"

"Yes!"

She was tired and still half asleep, but the fact that she still walked out means she also has something on her mind. But unlike me, she is dealing with it in a much better way.

"Come in. We have to wake up soon anyway."

The test for tomorrow will again be from a chosen class instead of the common one for the two of us, and since we will have the Superior magic engineering as a common paper, the two of us will be together.

We don’t know whether we will be giving it in the same place as the others, or individually in a separate test area.

We might get a complicated paper once again, but since we will have the same subject, the chat after the test will be a little longer than what we usually have.

"Yes, yes. Go in. I’m coming-."

"No, what do you mean? Come inside!"

She walked up to me and dragged me inside… and now that I came back in, it certainly seemed to be a little cooler inside.

The air itself wasn’t hot, but the outside temperature was slightly higher.

"See! It’s hot outside."

Technically with her dragging me like this, it’s hot inside as well, but anyway.

"Yes yes. You were right."

She was acting cute once again, it was funny how familiar this felt.

"There. Go sleep."

There was an artifact that controlled the temperature of the rooms and she scaled it down a little to make the room a little more cooler.

It wasn’t that hot outside. The temperature on the island was pretty constant most of the time, but she could feel the slight changes in the atmosphere.

It was something new, as well as fascinating for me.

"Sleep."

There was no point in reading or preparing for something that might just be a complete practical exam.

’The test might, on the other hand, be different for the two of us as well.’

But we prepared for both the theory and application parts.’

It wasn’t going to be that difficult either way since it’s magic engineering test, but considering how unique the superior alchemy paper was, the chances are high that we will face something unique tomorrow as well.

’Thankfully, I have a holiday after that.’

Then I’ll have All energy utilisation, and on the same day, Rein will have a holiday since the following day, she and Quin will have the Spirit bonding paper.

Then we all will have the weekends. And right after that, the following papers.

’The next week will be our last week in the academy and then, most of us will leave for home.’

We will be going home and aside from us Heliox and Atraxia people, Quin, Both the presidents and Lox will be coming with us as well.

"Sleep. I know you’re awake."

"Yes ma’am."

We will be parting ways with our other friends, but it will only be a few months.

We will be back soon from our vacation… and when we come back, we will be starting the second year of our academy life.
