Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 62 A rather weird decision

Lucas tensed his nose from the stink but it was something he had to overcome and do. He took a breather, pulled his sleeve up, and placed his hand inside the mess.

At this point, he had already kept everything on the shelves in order as they were clean, the huge amount of meat was still on the ground as apparently, there was still an unusual amount of blood in them.

Lucas had to take in note that this dissection was not normal and was done in a whitish rectangle just as how the shelter was built in the first place.

There was a big leaf that was kept near the mess and Lucas just tried to slide the mess on it but it was not a good experience, the last option was to himself pick it up with John to pick it up and keep it on the leaf.

About 5 minutes later, everything was on the big leaf of about half a meter in length and a good width.

"Leave that Lucas, they will take care of it." John said and told the two more people in the storage room to pick the leaf from both sides carefully.

"Why do I have to do this?! Ughh... it reeks in here."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Lucas already did the part of picking it up, the least you could do is bring it out, you both."

"Don't talk for me man, go on the other side," Barney said, a calm expression on his face yet his nose kept perking as if the smell was getting to him too.

Sean just clicked his tongue and went to the other side, while John kept the door open for them as they had the feature to close on their own.

The only downside was that there were no locks on them.

Lucas looked at the dirty dried and fresh blood stains on the floor. It was like a slaughter room where the chicken gets killed and butchered on the spot.

An hour passed and finally, the room was cleaner than before but the smell did not go away so the only option was to keep both the doors open for a while and hope that the smell does away from them and the window.

"You got it now, right? That you can't dissect inside here the next time." John said and finally got out of the storage room.

Even Lucas had to leave cause the low temperature was making him feel uncomfortable.

"Uncle John, those meat pieces inside the storage... we have to smoke them quick," Lucas suggested. The pieces had too much blood and the final decision was to take them outside.

When a small pile was out, John stopped and stared at the pieces, Lucas could tell that he had come up with something and only time could tell if it was useful or a dud idea.

"Barney, bring the two bowls."

In a minute, John had a bowl in his hand. He took a piece of meat in the other and after looking at it for a second, he gave it a little squeeze.

Blood started dropping from the piece as if it was a sponge that had soaked a lot.

The bowl started getting filled with blood until the whole meat had only a little left in it.

"Next," John said while giving the piece he just took the blood out of to Lucas who in turn kept it on the pit's wooden grills.

When he had another piece, he did the same thing until the first bowl was filled to the brim.

"Lucas, see if you can get the status of this blood."

Lucas with a frown complied with the request and tried to think of questions about the blood until some texts finally came.

----

Bowl of Xerax blood (Unrefined)

Common grade

48 ml

The blood can be used in various processes.

----

"I got it but it isn't much information Uncle John, what are you trying to find?" Lucas asked while he was looking at the texts which had some peculiar things written.

Such as the bowl was recognized by the system which was made by a human and the unrefined matter. This made him wonder if the spear he made also had the information available.

He decided to look at it later as the spear was currently inside the storage room.

"I am going to take a sip, so please tell me what it says. I can't seem to get the information."

Lucas first had no reaction but with time, his eyes narrowed. He was confused as to why John had to do something like this.

"Honey... why would you want to do that? Blood is... undigestable... right?" Ella asked while looking at Sarah as she herself did not know the answer.

In times so peaceful and water available in abundance to everyone. There was no need to know if blood was drinkable and safe.

Sarah was silent as even she had no idea about it.

"I haven't ever tried drinking it, but there is always a certain quantity of blood in the things we eat you know."

Even Lucas kept thinking, in the inspection of the texts, there was nothing written that it was not okay to drink. It could even be used in various processing like it was written.

"Sarah is right, we do drink some animal blood without even knowing it and we are just fine. I just want to know if it has something else in it or not."

The other couldn't understand the 'something else' part but Lucas's brain clicked at once. John was discreetly asking if there was something written about whether it is unsuitable for drinking or even poisonous.

Lucas looked at him and without anyone knowing, he just shook his head in denial.

A grin formed on John's face which made Lucas uncomfortable.

'Damn it, I should have just feigned ignorance.'

When everyone was thinking about whether it was right to drink it or not, they heard a slurping sound, and everyone's eyes darted toward it.

John had already taken a sip...
