Level Up: Voidwalker

Chapter 219 You Seem Happy Now

Atlas continued battling the Void Golems, wiping out thousands of monsters as they became stone chunks. Following this, the stone creatures appeared, charging at him before throwing a few punches.

He dodged many attacks with a smile while casting a dozen spells that peppered the Warrior Golems. Soon enough, Atlas grew tired as he ran out of mana and dropped to one knee as the exhaustion set in.

'That's enough; I need some rest,' Without wasting time, he returned to the real world, where he noticed Nuliajuk crawling into the tent. Atlas smiled before facing away from the young woman as he checked the monster total.

[Void Golem – 000/1000000]

[Void Warrior Golem – 101313/500000]

[Void Golem Commander – 85412/100000]

[Void Golem King – 1/1]

Following that, Atlas lay there as his mana was recovering; thunder boomed overhead just as a roar echoed across the Chaos Realm. He turned over to see Nuliajuk staring at him with gleaming blue eyes.

The young woman smiled as she spoke, ''You need to be more careful in your future fights, or you'll be losing more than an arm.''

Atlas nodded in understanding as Nulia stroked Atek, whose head poked out of her jacket while he enjoyed the pampering. This made him smile before asking, ''How long have you had him?''

''Many years now, I found him as a kitten when a Windwalker killed his parents,'' she revealed while stroking the little cat's chin.

Then, something unexpected happened, startling both of them. Atek crawled out from her jacket, limping toward him. Concerned, Atlas sat up and gently scooped the little being into his lap, his fingers instinctively stroking its soft fur.

'What is this creature doing?' he thought with confusion. 'I thought he hated me?'

As he did, he channeled mana to his fingertips, sending it into the cat's body. The little Frostfang began to purr, the soothing energy easing its pain as it nestled closer into his embrace.

Nulia was shocked before shaking her head and speaking with a small smile, ''It seems like he likes you, and whatever you're doing is helping him. The mana is repairing the injuries and strengthening his body.''

After that, Atlas pulled out a pile of blankets and offered some to Nulia, who smiled warmly at the gesture. With a contented sigh, he cuddled up with the fluffy cat as exhaustion quickly knocked him out.

Sleep overtook him; the gentle flow of mana he'd sent into Atek worked its magic, healing the small creature throughout the night. By morning, he was woken by something licking his face.

'What the hell is that?' Atlas thought while opening his eyes.

He saw the Frostfang Atek, who was fully recovered and full of energy, bouncing over him and making playful, adorable noises. Groggy but amused, he couldn't help but smile at the sight.

"You seem happy now. Feeling better, I hope?" he said with a grin, gently stroking the cat's head.

In response, Atek playfully nibbled at his fingers. With a chuckle, Atlas grabbed the little furball, launching into a playful attack of strokes and pets. The creature went wild, making adorable growls while nipping at his hand, clearly enjoying the game.

Atek was in full mischief mode, scrambling up Atlas's body and plopping down on his shoulder before sinking his tiny teeth into one of his pointy ears. He shivered at the sudden sensation, a sharp tingle running through him.

Laughing and trying to push the cat away, he muttered, "You little shit, don't bite those—they're sensitive!"

But Atek kept at it, clearly enjoying the reaction, his playful spirit refusing to let up. The playful chaos woke Nulia up, causing her to blink when she saw the two of them play fighting, which made her smile.

She stretched before speaking, ''What are you doing? Why are you pining him to the ground?''

Atlas paused his playful attack on the little creature when he heard Nulia's voice. The little furball immediately seized the opportunity, wriggling free from his grasp and darting toward her.

Nulia scooped him up, cradling him gently as she began to baby him. The cat nuzzled into her affectionately, soaking in the attention, while Atlas watched with an amused smirk while brushing himself off.

'Let's go check outside,' he thought while drinking water.

Following that, he crawled outside the tent but was shocked to see a thick wall of mist blocking his view of the jungle below. While standing there, he summoned a few Darklings and ordered them to scout the area.

The dark creatures nodded before vanishing into the mist. Atlas brought out three Werewolves, who started nudging up against him. He smiled when this happened and stroked the giant monsters.

Shortly after that, Nulia exited the tent and went on the defensive, but Atlas quickly spoke in amusement, ''These are mine; I'm getting them to scout the ground below while other monsters are already scouting.''

She narrowed her eyes before exclaiming, ''Their Rank A Monsters, how are you controlling them?''

When Atlas heard this, he went quiet, which Nulia took as a signal that he didn't want to discuss. The Werewolves jumped off the ledge as he suggested, ''We should wait for the monsters before moving out. The Chaos creatures love to lay ambushes, and I don't want to deal with the Mawlings anymore.''

After speaking, she agreed with his plan and crawled back into the tent to rest. Atlas chose to sit outside to wait for the Darklings, and while doing that, he checked his status to see if he leveled up.

'No level up but my stats went up a little,' Atlas smiled before activating Void Realm.

He reappeared on the plateau and started fighting the Warrior Golems by wiping them out with Void Barrages and Blasts. Explosions rang out everywhere as the stone monsters were sent into the water below.

Atlas continued casting spells that tore through the enemies, causing them to fade back into the Void Realm. The battle continued until he ran out of mana, but he fought until a Golem Commander hit him with a sneak attack.

He was jolted back to the real world, where werewolves surrounded the tent, their eyes gleaming with intensity. The leader stepped forward and informed him that monsters were roaming in the mist below.

'Interesting,' Atlas mused with a curious expression. 'Are they waiting for us? It really doesn't matter as we're safe for now.' Experience more tales on empire

He shrugged before checking the monster total of Level Three and was surprised to see the number of Void Warrior Golems he had dealt with.

[Void Golem – 000/1000000]

[Void Warrior Golem – 86189/500000]

[Void Golem Commander – 853104/100000]

[Void Golem King – 1/1]

''I might as well tire myself while trapped up here,'' he muttered before activating Void Realm again.

When he entered, Atlas felt tiredness messing with his body, but he ignored that and started casting Void Bombs and Lances, which took out dozens of stone monsters and brought them crashing to the ground.

After casting Void Infusion on his swords, he rushed into them and cut them to pieces. Atlas continued fighting the Warrior Golems and deflected many of their attacks. This caused him to smile while thinking, 'This is getting so much easier, I can't wait to see what the next monster is.'

Following that, Atlas rushed forward and continued to cut down more monsters that vanished into the realm, but that's when the Golem Commanders appeared. He gulped when he saw they looked stronger than the ones he had fought before.

'Why are they getting stronger?' Atlas wondered, bracing himself behind the Void Guard shield.

A thunderous crack split the air as the stone fist slammed into the azure barrier, sending Atlas skidding backward from the sheer force. He gritted his teeth, shaking off the impact, and quickly retaliated, launching a Void Lance into the golem's chest.

The dark projectile pierced through its target, continuing its deadly path and taking out a dozen more in a single, swift strike. Atlas cleared some space before returning to real life, which caused him to check the total.

[Void Golem – 000/1000000]

[Void Warrior Golem – 84617/500000]

[Void Golem Commander – 853064/100000]

[Void Golem King – 1/1]

Afterward, he pulled out his second-to-last Forest Boar Meat Box, savoring the meal's warmth as he ate. Suddenly, Atek burst out of the tent, eyes fixed on him. The little cat puffed up and attempted a menacing roar but only managed a cute, high-pitched squeak.

He smirked at the tiny creature's effort before patting his leg and saying, "Do you want some? It's hot, though."

Without hesitation, the little cat leaped onto his lap and eagerly shoved its small head into the box, eating alongside him. He chuckled at the sight, amused by the cat sharing his meal, causing him to stroke its soft white fur.

''You confuse me. First, you want to attack me, but now you're all over me?'' Atlas asked the monster before eating some boar meat.
