Chapter 322 Inn
"Hey, why does this caravan feel so desolate?"
"I don't know, how am I supposed to know?" 🙄
"I thought you knew everything about this city."
"This city, remember? They have come to the city just now..." ಠ_ಠ
"Alright, alright," the man rubbed his head helplessly, looking at the desolate caravan travelling down the street.
"This carriage is luxurious. Whose force is this?"
"It should be the Duke's daughter, so don't even think about doing anything."
"Yes, I will."
The carriages had already arrived at a luxurious inn. From inside one of the carriages, a woman with purple hair stepped out under the guidance of a burly youth and another woman.
"Miss Rowena, let's settle here," Aur said with a smile.
"Yes, master," Rowena nodded her head meekly.
"Call me Travis from now on in public," Aur politely smiled.
"Okay, Travis."
Rowena was guided by Hazel and Aur, now known as Travis, into the tavern.
Aur immediately called out to the servant with a haughty expression on his face.
"Prepare the best room in this inn for our young miss."
"Yes, yes," the owner of the tavern, a middle-aged man, hurriedly said with a fawning expression while guiding them to the best room possible.
"Where will your two servants stay, miss?" he suddenly asked.
Rowena frowned in return, displeasure evident on her face.
"Is it your place to question the miss? Who do you think you are?" Aur delivered a slap with brute force, maintaining a haughty expression.
The middle-aged man was plastered to the ground.
He fell with a rigid expression, which soon turned into a fawning smile without a hint of resentment as he walked back up to the miss again.
"I am sorry for disrespecting you, if—"
"Stop it. Just show us the room, and Travis, apologise to him," Rowena coldly stated, a flash of killing intent in her eyes.
Aur hurriedly bowed his head slightly. "Sorry, middle-aged man."
"My name is Lee, but you don't have to be courteous towards me. You are just teaching this lowly slave a lesson for disrespecting the authority of the miss."
With that said, the middle-aged man quickly led them to the most luxurious room in the inn, even better than his own room.
The room was filled with gold and was brightly lit with a golden light. There was a massive bed in the centre and countless decorations hung on the walls, including the leather of a tier-three beast.
The terrifying presence was quite overwhelming, even though it was just a piece of skin.
"How could you have tier-three beast leather here in an inn, no less, no matter how luxurious it is?" Aur asked with narrowed eyes.
Lee glanced at Rowena and replied in a calm tone, "This is not an ordinary inn. The city lord is the owner of this inn, and only the most important guests are allowed entry here."
"Oh, interesting. The city lord must be a strong wizard."
"Of course he is, after all, a tier-four wizard, one who can be detached from the earth and truly fly," Lee spoke with unspeakable pride.
Aur nodded his head with an amused expression.
"With the status of our miss, even tier-four wizard lords must bow their heads," Aur spoke again mockingly.
Lee's voice cracked. Indeed, Aur was not incorrect. As the only beloved daughter of the Duke, a tier-five wizard, they could only bow their heads to her, but…
How dare a mere servant talk so bluntly about a lord?
Lee wanted to immediately rebuke him; however, he couldn't gather the courage to speak.
Suddenly, Lee looked at the silent purple-haired woman, and his eyes flashed with realization.
"I see." He gave a perfunctory nod and left the place.
As the saying goes, no matter how rebellious the servant is, they are still an actor for their master. Seeing Rowena silent without speaking immediately told him that this was the attitude of his master rather than just this damned servant.
"Sigh, I need to inform the city lord immediately."
Thinking this, he quickened his pace, hurriedly boarded his personal carriage, and headed towards the city lord's mansion.
Meanwhile, inside the room, Aur was sitting on the bed while the two women stood with trembling bodies.
"Master." Explore stories on empire
They both bowed their heads.
If Lee had seen such a thing, he might have been shocked to the point of having a heart attack. The dignified only daughter of a Duke acting like a personal slave to this person was inconceivable.
Moreover, if he knew the identity of the other woman, he would have been even more stunned.
She was a disciple of the Divine Order sect, a sect naturally stronger than the Duke's domain since they had a tier six wizard holding the line. However, the king of the Roshar kingdom backed the Duke, making their power quite even.
The disciples of these sects were known for their firm resolve, strong will, and self-righteous personalities. Seeing Hazel trembling like a little girl in front of Aur would completely upend his world view.
"Master, what should we do?" Rowena asked tentatively after a long time of bowing without any response from Aur.
"Leave the room and guard this place. Only when I call you can anyone enter. Remember, no one is allowed entry," Aur sternly said, his expression serious.
"Yes, Master," they responded in unison.
Two old wizards and a person wearing a green coat with a goatee appeared from thin air. Everyone left the room, leaving Aur alone.
"Oh, Lord Forest, cast that killer move which sealed us previously. It should be sturdy enough to last even if a tier four wizard attacks for a moment," Aur commanded.
Lord Forest nodded his head and everyone left. After leaving the place, Lord forest casually waved his hand and the entire place was sealed instantly.
With everyone outside, Aur sat cross-legged on the bed.
"It has already been forty days since we have travelled and it's time to breakthrough to the peak of tier one wizard realm."
