Chapter 425: Chapter 425: Demon's Sky Formation, Sewer Ambush
The secret chamber was dark and cramped.
"John!" A cry of surprise rang out as a graceful figure rushed into his arms.
It was Sini.
John breathed a sigh of relief when he recognized the figure in his arms.
Not only Sini, but Spoorate had also been captured, and Jean and Nature God were imprisoned here as well.
"Big brother!"
"Godslayer, long time no see."
The group was overjoyed to see him.
"Let's get out of here first." Upon seeing Jean and Nature God, John's anger flared up.
It was clear that both had endured severe torment, especially Nature God, whose power had been greatly depleted and whose breath was faint.
With a thought, he quickly stored them in World-in-Hand and left the chamber to join Gaka and the others.
Boom boom...
The overwhelming power of dark laws surged, and Dark Orbs howled as they fell.
The Demon's Sky Formation had been successfully set up, and Gaka and the others were in agony.
Senren stood at the edge of the formation, his gaze dark and cold. He said icily, "Gaka, none of you are leaving today."
Gaka ignored him, repeatedly attempting to break through the Demon's Sky Formation but being forced back by the whistling orbs.
Even at his peak, breaking the formation wouldn't be guaranteed, let alone now when he was already injured.
At this moment, John entered the fray, smashing a few of the orbs and quickly asking, "Senior, can we break through?"
Gaka did not respond. His expression was serious as he looked toward Medusa.
"Leave it to me!" Understanding flashed in his mind. He quickly scanned the battlefield and locked onto a nearby sewer entrance.
Boom!
He transformed into his true form, his enormous snake tail slamming down to smash the sewer lid, dodging the descending orbs. He hurriedly said, "Quick, follow me!"
"Stop them!" Senren realized their intent and began attacking furiously.
Gaka stepped forward, standing in front of everyone, taking on the full force of Senren and the formation's attacks.
Boom boom...
The dark power of the laws surged, causing Gaka's body to tremble. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.
He stared fiercely at Senren, killing intent radiating from him. He threw the Sea God Trident with full force, aiming at his opponent.
"Gaka, accept your fate. You are no match for me now." Senren's face grew grim. His long staff swung, and dark power swirled, transforming into monstrous, terrifying creatures that bared their claws and fangs.
Buzz!
The Sea God Trident cut through the air, its power disturbing the dark laws, and the demonic creatures were instantly destroyed. However, the trident's momentum did not slow and it still hurtled toward Senren.
"Bind them!" Senren bellowed, waving his staff, sealing the space.
Buzz!
The space trembled, but the Sea God Trident remained firmly suspended before him.
"Gaka, thanks for the gift!" Senren sneered and reached out to seize the trident.
But Gaka just smiled coldly, extending his palm, using Mind Manipulation.
"Strangle!" He whispered sharply, and the Sea God Trident suddenly spun. The surrounding space was instantly shredded, breaking free from its restraints, and then it exploded with immense power, shooting toward Senren.
"Not good!" His expression changed as he sensed the danger. He tried to dodge, but it was already too late.
Boom!
With a deafening roar, the massive trident pierced through his body, blood pouring from the wound as he was sent flying backward.
Gaka let out a slight breath of relief, though his expression was grim. The attack had nearly drained all of his strength.
He reached out, summoning the Sea God Trident back to him.
"Go quickly." He didn't dare waste time. He shattered the falling law spheres, then stayed behind to cover John and the others as they rushed into the sewer.
Boom!
Hundreds of law spheres followed closely, screaming as they slammed down, causing the ground to tremble. The area caved in, buildings collapsed, and the entrance to the sewer was immediately submerged.
A horde of Black Magicians swiftly flew over, intending to clear the rubble from the collapsedn/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
sewer.
"No need." Severely wounded, Senren arrived, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth and stopping his subordinates.
One of his followers looked puzzled and asked, "My lord, the sewer runs through the entire Dark City, it's a maze. They might escape."
Senren sneered, "I've already made preparations. All the exits are blocked. They won't escape the Dark City."
From the moment Medusa appeared, he had sensed their intention to flee through the sewer.
It was impossible.
He continued, "Inform the Baron. Tell him to send the Bloodthirst Beasts and Corrupted Demons into the sewer to capture them."
"Yes!" The subordinate's eyes lit up, and he quickly retreated.
The Baron was another lord of Dark City, overseeing a region adjacent to Senren's. His army, including the Bloodthirst Beasts and Corrupted Demons, was well-suited to navigating the sewer and specialized in tracking. They were the perfect force to handle John and the others.
...
The dark and damp sewer was thick with the stench of decay.
"What is this hellhole?" Immortal King and the others covered their mouths and noses, their brows furrowed.
The environment here made him feel uncomfortable all over.
For John and the others, it was the second time entering this place, and they still felt uneasy.
"Senior, are you alright?" John looked at Gaka, whose breath was faint and whose face was ashen, a trace of worry in his eyes.
Gaka breathed heavily, using the Sea God Trident to prop himself up, preventing himself from
collapsing.
He weakly replied, "I'm fine. I just need a moment to rest."
John furrowed his brows and stepped forward, grabbing Gaka's wrist.
A foul, decaying aura mixed with the evil dark power of laws surged around, wildly devouring
Gaka's vitality.
"Senior, you..." John's expression changed. Gaka wasn't just injured; his life force was rapidly
fading away.
"I'm fine." Gaka interrupted him, casting a cautious glance at Medusa beside them.
John immediately understood.
He realized that Gaka was worried that, without his presence to intimidate her, Medusa might
backstab them.
He said nothing further. A wave of life energy surged from his body and flowed into Gaka.
Buzz!
Vitality spread through Gaka's body, gradually healing his broken form.
Gaka's condition visibly improved.
However, John knew that this could only delay his impending death. It wouldn't heal him
completely.
Gaka's downfall seemed inevitable.
"Young man, thank you." He looked at John and nodded gratefully, his satisfaction with him
growing.
He had already decided that, if he couldn't find a suitable successor, he would pass on the Sea God inheritance to John.
"Medusa, lead the way!" He glanced at Medusa, whose eyes were flickering with an unknown thought. He spoke coldly.
If it weren't for the fact that they still needed her to guide them out of here, he would have already acted and eliminated this despicable person.
"Of course." Medusa quickly regained her composure, flashing a sycophantic smile. She
surveyed the complex underground passages carefully, feeling the air, and then selected one. "This way." She moved quickly, occasionally encountering Dark Rats. However, these weak magical beasts posed no threat to John and the others and were easily slain.
"We should be close to the exit." Medusa let out a sigh of relief. As long as she passed through an area, she left behind her scent. No matter how complicated the sewer, they wouldn't get
lost.
John, however, furrowed his brows deeply, a bad premonition creeping into his mind.
They had been in the sewer for quite a while, and Senren hadn't sent anyone to stop them.
This felt very unusual to him.
He spoke up, caution in his voice, "We should still be careful."
Medusa, however, wore a smug expression and said, "Don't worry, I know this place like the
back of my hand."
"Master, we should leave quickly." Abyssbanshee urged, her discomfort with the environment growing stronger by the second.
John didn't say anything more, following Medusa as they swiftly moved through the sewer.
Gurgle... gurgle...
Ahead, they could faintly hear the sound of flowing water, and a faint light appeared. The
thick, black, murky substance flowed through the pipes, being expelled.
The group saw hope and quickened their pace.
But as they drew closer, they stopped in their tracks.
To leave this place, they would have to immerse themselves in the filthy substance and move
through it.
John, Cand-Dragon, and Sword Demon had been through similar situations before, so they didn't resist too much.
However, the women frowned, reluctant to dive into the muck.
"Enter my World-in-Hand." John didn't want to force them and, with a thought, stored
Tracy, Ice Talker, and Abyssbanshee in World-in-Hand.
"Master, I also want to go into your World-in-Hand." Immortal King looked at John,
pleading with pitiable eyes.
"No." John rejected him flatly.
He himself was about to wade into the filthy water, but these guys wanted to slack off? Who
was the master here, him or them?
Immortal King hung his head in defeat, realizing he had no choice but to comply. He could
only blame his World-in-Hand for being destroyed.
"Let's go." Medusa transformed into her true form, rapidly shrinking, took a deep breath, and
then slid directly into the muck.
The others followed closely behind.
Though Immortal King and Death Knight were reluctant, they had no other choice.
Whoosh...
The filthy water swirled around them, quickly carrying them forward.
John furrowed his brow, sensing something was wrong. His six senses were all sealed off in
the muck, but he still felt a faint danger.
There's an ambush!
He tried to warn the others, but he couldn't speak. He could only use his powerful mental
energy to send a warning.
The thick, black liquid rushed forward, and at the exit, a massive contraption resembling a
meat grinder appeared, churning and grinding everything in its path, even the discarded metal in the sludge.
John sensed the danger and dashed to the front. United Sword appeared in his hand, and a
slash of sword energy roared toward the giant meat grinder blocking the exit.
Boom!
The sludge erupted, and the massive grinder, seemingly made of indestructible material,
remained unharmed.
"Get out of here!" John didn't dare waste any time and quickly charged out of the water.
The others reacted just in time, scrambling to climb to the shore.
Buzz...
A cold gleam flickered, and the fan-like grinder continued its relentless destruction of
everything in the muck.
"Senren is ruthless!" Medusa gritted her teeth. If she hadn't heard John's warning, they would
have already been sliced to pieces by that giant blade.
"I'll try something." Gaka stepped forward, gripping the Sea God Trident. With all his might,
he thrust the trident toward the massive fan-like grinder.
Boom!
A tremendous roar echoed as the tunnel shook. Several of the giant blades shattered, and the
grinder was damaged.
Everyone let out a sigh of relief. Medusa, seeing that the danger had passed, was about to
leave.
Whoosh!
A flash of light flickered, and hundreds of black shadows came screaming toward them.
It was the Black Demon Bombs!
"There's an ambush!" Medusa's face changed drastically as she hastily retreated.
What do you think?
