Chapter 34 - 31 Help, Brother Hen

Yu Yu took some potatoes from the soil cultivation on the third floor.
Carrying a basket of potatoes back to the secret room, Yu Yu closed the door and immediately smelled something like a dead rat.
It was coming from another floor, so Yu Yu pinched her nose at once.
Strangely, after waking up from a nap in her brother’s arms, she noticed that all the surrounding smells had become unusually strong, even the sweat smell on her brother had become somewhat unbearable.
So, while her brother slept deeply, Yu Yu thoughtfully wiped her brother all over.
In her own room, she used to wash her pillow as well; if there was any odor, she wouldn’t sleep well at night.
"Brother has started to stink again today, he needs a wash!"
Yu Yu fetched a towel, and since the water resources were abundant, she had to bathe her brother frequently!
To be honest, her silent brother was actually very handsome. Why didn’t God make him mute? That way, she would have the best brother in the world.
First, she wiped his face.
Then, she wiped his chest…
"What are you doing?" Suddenly, a voice came close to her ear.
Yu Yu was so startled that her face turned red as she looked at the suddenly awake human-shaped pillow!
"I’m...washing you." Yu Yu waved her little hand and said.
"You didn’t do anything weird to me, right?" Wu Hen questioned.
Yu Yu immediately shook her head, causing her little braids to swing.
Wu Hen looked at his lotus-like arm and indeed saw it was covered with small teeth marks, clearly indicating that any slight unhappiness would make a certain little cat bite!
Wu Hen didn’t hesitate to reach out and pinch Yu Yu’s water-producing cheek.
"Eeeyaaa!!" Yu Yu could not speak, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t make a sound; she was clearly calling for their mom!
As expected, Yu Yi quickly appeared and gave Wu Hen a hard slap on the head, angrily saying, "Bullying your sister again!"
The household hierarchy was clear, and Wu Hen naturally didn’t dare to be arrogant.
After dealing with Wu Hen, Mom Yu Yi then suddenly realized something. Seeing Wu Hen awake, she was excited and belatedly said, "You’re awake? You’re awake again?"
Wu Yingting also rushed over, giving his son a big hug upon seeing him awake again!
"Dad, I came with a mission this time. The situation is a bit complicated," Wu Hen said.
"Can you handle it? Do you need help?" Wu Yingting asked.
"I should be able to, but..."
"Little Yu seems to have awakened her sense of smell," Wu Yingting said confidently.
"Really??" Wu Hen was also a bit excited and immediately said, "So where are my underwear?"
Yu Yu, finally fed up, stomped hard on Wu Hen’s foot.
"If you need to deal with those strong-scented creatures, it’s best to take Little Yu with you," Wu Yingting said with relief.
He hadn’t expected both of his children to become Spirit Awakeners.
Of course, Wu Yingting was still puzzled; they were his children, and both were awakened. Why hadn’t he awakened despite his efforts? Where did things go wrong?
It must be because of old age.
"Alright, if we encounter Insect Eyes Half-men again, we won’t be caught off guard," Wu Hen nodded, deciding to take this little Fire Shadow girl with him.
…
Back in the secret passage.
Wu Hen and Yu Yu sneaked into the school district’s air-raid shelter.
After successfully getting into the mountains behind the school, the two wore school uniforms, so even if they accidentally ran into Order Maintenance Personnel, there was no need to worry about being questioned.
They passed through the sports field and arrived near the academic buildings.
Wu Hen saw silhouettes moving inside the academic buildings, likely students who had not fallen under Desert Dust but were under a lockdown, some of whom were quite optimistic, playing in the classroom corridors.
"Little Yu, use your little brain. The school is so big, how do we find the parasitized Insect Eyes Half-men?" Wu Hen asked.
While in the air-raid shelter, Wu Hen had explained the Insect Eyes Soul Nesting Wood to Yu Yu, hoping his sister, who loved detective novels, could piece together some logic for him.
"Go to the medicine warehouse and lie in wait," Yu Yu suggested.
"There are Order Maintenance Army members with weapons there, we can’t get close, and the Insect Eyes Half-men probably can’t either," Wu Hen replied.
"If I were an Insect Eyes Half-man, I would create chaos, like setting fires, poisoning, or mur..." Yu Yu’s sign language was abruptly interrupted as chaos erupted from the direction of the academic buildings!
Wu Hen and Yu Yu frowned and turned to look at the corridor of the academic building. They saw a silver-fungus-covered humanoid monster waving countless tendrils, indiscriminately attacking the students inside the academic building!
Both knew that the Insect Eyes Half-men would cause chaos; they didn’t expect them to start killing!
In the brief moment they were stunned, several students playing in the corridor were cut down, blood spurting.
"Quick!! Protect the students! Evacuate the students!!" A female Order Maintainer shouted.
Soon, six Order Maintenance Personnel armed with guns ran quickly toward the corridor.
Initially, they thought it was an intruder, but when they saw the half-human monster with those horrifying tendrils, their faces were full of horror and confusion!
What on earth is this!!
Did they drink some nuclear wastewater??
No amount of undercooked fungus would cause such a bizarre hallucination!
"Shoot!" the female Order Maintainer commanded.
The six immediately raised their guns, bullets raining down like a storm on the silver Insect Eyes Half-man.
But the Insect Eyes Half-man’s body sprouted a large number of fungal filaments, which were comparable to the most advanced fiber materials; they formed a blast-proof shield.
The six emptied their magazines on the silver fungal shield, only forcing the silver Insect Eyes Half-man to retreat a few steps.
Fortunately, this attack prevented the silver Insect Eyes Half-man from moving, giving the students at the other end of the corridor a chance to escape!
"Help, help!" a curly-haired man shouted loudly from the nearest classroom in the corridor.
Wu Hen took a closer look and realized it was his best friend, Wang Rui!
He seemed to have failed to evacuate from the last classroom, and the silver Insect Eyes Half-man was heading straight for that classroom!
"Little Yu, you hide here first," Wu Hen said.
The weapons of the Order Maintenance Army and Su Li’s elemental weapon were not the same; their bullets could only slow down the Insect Eyes Half-men, not harm these parasitic fungal monsters.
Having said that, Wu Hen ran towards the corridor of the academic building.
Arriving at the corridor, the female Order Maintainer recognized Wu Hen, whom she had met once, and angrily shouted, "Student, hurry and escape, why are you running towards the danger?!"
"Leave this to me. You immediately order reinforcement to protect the medicine warehouse. Their actual goal is to destroy the warehouse!" Wu Hen opposed the female Order Maintainer’s order.
"Don’t make matters worse at this critical moment!" the female Order Maintainer said furiously.
Wu Hen didn’t have time to explain; he grabbed the collar of the woman, pulling her close to him, and coldly said, "You don’t make matters worse for me. I am a Spirit Awakener dispatched from above. Everything here is under my command!"
He then pushed the female Order Maintainer hard against the wall, hoping the force and pain would wake her up a bit.
The female Order Maintainer, dressed in military attire, was taken aback by Wu Hen’s domineering attitude. Before she could react, Wu Hen walked towards the terrifying Insect Eyes Half-man!
"Little Yi, bring the bow!"
Wu Hen extended his right arm, and soon his hand was enveloped by White Bright Xuan Silk. The silk quickly formed into a graceful White Profound Bow!
"Arrow, come!"
Wu Hen commanded again. Soon, a crystal-like substance appeared on his gripping fingers. During growth and shaping, they were as flexible as silk yet hardened like iron when fully formed!
"Shoo!!"
A snow-white arrow shot out, its surface covered with fine electricity, standing out sharply in the approaching night!
The silver Insect Eyes Half-man regained its mobility. When it saw the arrow coming, it sneered lightly.
Bullets couldn’t penetrate its body, so what good would an old-fashioned bow and arrow do?
"Puff!!"
The arrow pierced through, exploding in the parasitic creature’s chest with a burst of electric thunder, blasting apart half of its chest!
But, the monster’s chest was no longer human tissue; through the gaping wound, countless silver worms could be seen crawling inside, serving as its skin, muscles, blood vessels, and membranes.
Even as Wu Hen blasted its chest open, large numbers of these silver larvae fell out, which vaporized quickly when exposed to the air.
"Cough cough...isn’t this Wu Hen??"
"You’ve been expelled; why are you still coming to school...cough cough~"
"Back when you were in school, you were the one I couldn’t stand the most. Seeing you now, you’re still so damn annoying!"
The silver Insect Eyes Half-man turned its face aside. It was a crew-cut boy with fierce eyebrows who was delighted when Wu Hen was expelled.
Wu Hen hadn’t expected that such a thoroughly parasitized individual would be his classmate, Zhou Guang. It seemed that spiritual consciousness chose the good, while corrupt flies mingled with human maggots!
No wonder this silver Insect Eyes Half-man was prioritizing slaughtering his own class!
Wu Hen glanced deeper into the corridor and saw many familiar faces in the classroom:
Class beauty Luo Yuying, best friend Wang Rui, female scholar Tian Jia Bao, class dunce Zhu Feiyu, and the most handsome guy in the class, which was…himself.
"Wu...Wu Hen?????"
"It’s Wu Hen!!"
Those in the classroom were already terrified, their tears and snot mixing as they suddenly looked up and saw that their savior was Wu Hen, who had recently been expelled, each finding it hard to believe!
"Help us, Brother Hen!!" Best friend Wang Rui shouted frantically, his voice cracking like an old lady’s!
