Chapter 60 Fenwick Loses His Rationality
Even though Fenwick was afraid of Lucian, for Lily's sake, he would risk his life even if it only bought her a second to escape.
But, for now, there was no need to risk his life.
*Cough*
A moment later, Fenwick could no longer stand the lovey-dovey atmosphere and loudly coughed into his arm.
Lucian frowned and glanced at Fenwick. He could tell he coughed purposefully but did not say anything.
Lucian wanted a partner who would stay with him for all eternity. He and Lily barely knew each other. Therefore, he was not in a rush.
"Ahh, sorry." Fenwick apologized while scratching his head awkwardly. He acted as though he did not purposely cough.
But inwardly, he laughed, 'Heh, serves you right. Stay away from Lily.' He had to admit, he found it quite hilarious when the indifferent owner frowned. For some reason, he felt as if he had done the unthinkable.
'What a terrible liar.' Lucian thought as he placed the plate of Sous Vide Filet Mignon in front of Lily.
"Here is your plate of Sous Vide Filet Mignon. I hope it is to your satisfaction, Lily."
*Woosh*
Immediately, the delicious beefy smell of steak increased in intensity, impacting Lily's face and flowing into her nostrils like a stream meeting a river. Her already blushing face reddened, but this time in excitement. She could not wait to eat.
*Guruguru*
Her stomach rumbled in hunger, but she did not become embarrassed, her senses were entirely dominated by the aroma to care.
Meanwhile, Fenwick was also in a similar state to Lily.
*Gurgurguru*
The smell was intoxicating. It was unlike anything he had ever smelled before.
Unconsciously, he swallowed his saliva, but just as quickly more saliva pooled in his mouth. It was never-ending. The more he swallowed, the more his mouth watered.
'How is this possible?'
Not even the Siren's Melody Poached Egg had caused him to lose all rationality.
He felt like a slave to the dish.
'I want to taste it.'
'I want to taste it.'
'I want to taste it.'
That was all Fenwick could think. His mind had been completely dominated.
Soon, without his consent, his arms moved on their own, grabbing a knife and fork before his left hand holding the fork reached out toward the steak.
Seeing Fenwick's sudden movement, Lucian frowned, and he coldly said, "Sir, unless you do not want to be blacklisted, and kicked out of my restaurant, I suggest you halt your hand."
Fenwick was taken aback after hearing Lucian's cold words. Immediately after, he frowned in displeasure with his hand mere inches away from the juicy, delicious steak.
He turned his head up to Lucian before suddenly shivering when his eyes met Lucian's dark purple vertical eyes.
Hastily, he lowered his head, not daring to stare for a second longer. As for the Sous Vide Filet Mignon, he no longer dared to think about it.
'Those eyes are too scary. Just what kind of Magical Beast is he? … And why do they seem so familiar?'
Fenwick could not shake off the feeling he had seen those eyes before, yet at the same time, they felt different. But even after pondering, he could not remember.
"Big Brother Lucian, don't scare Uncle Fen. Uncle is a good person." Lily pouted and stared fiercely into Lucian's eyes. She was not scared of them one bit. In fact, she found them oddly beautiful.
Lucian frowned and looked at Lily. He curiously asked, "When did I scare him?"
He was truly confused. All he said was that if Fenwick did not want to be blacklisted, he should halt his hands.
'Is being blacklisted that frightening?' Lucian wondered.
Lily cutely pouted and stared at Lucian's face. After seeing his genuine confusion, she tilted her head and pointed at his eyes, "Big Brother Lucian, could it be that you don't know your eyes changed?"n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Hmm, my eyes?" Lucian frowned and glanced down at the table. Because of how clean and polished the tables were, he could even see his own reflection staring back at him.
Suddenly, realization dawned upon him when he saw his eyes.
Lucian internally sighed.
Dragons and Incubi were two of the most prideful Races in existence. When Fenwick had tried to take a slice of steak, his innate pride must have felt it was being stepped upon. Thus, his Dragon's Gaze Skill, activated on its own.
However, Lucian did not apologize to Fenwick. He saw no reason to. His restaurant's rules were clearly written on the menu. If he had read them his Dragon's Gaze Skill would not have activated.
"The Sous Vide Filet Mignon is getting cold."
After speaking, Lucian sat on an empty chair beside Lily and, without an ounce of shame on his face, forked a slice of steak onto his plate.
Fenwick frowned, feeling his anger surging, but he forced it down.
Lily pouted with a roll of her pretty eyes while being mildly confused.
"Why is Big Brother Lucian eating Lily's food? Is it not Lily's?" Lily tilted her head, and even though she asked Lucian, she took a piece of steak as well. Since he had said it was hers, the fourth rule did not apply to her. She could eat it in peace, without having to worry about being blacklisted.
After cutting the slice of steak into four pieces, Lucian answered, "Initially, this Sous Vide Filet Mignon was supposed to be my brunch. However, since I made a promise to you, I decided to share four of the eight slices with you."
Lily unconsciously nodded, while swallowing her saliva. The smell that wafted into her nose after Lucian had cut the steak was too tempting.
Immediately, she cut her slice of steak into smaller portions, marveling at how easily it cut before shoving a piece into her wet mouth.
As for Fenwick, he enviously watched as the steak entered Lily's mouth. He wished it was him who was eating!
The moment the steak entered her mouth, it melted like butter in a searing hot pan, coating her mouth with a delicious beefy taste.
"So… delicious!" Lily exclaimed while cupping her cheeks.
