Primordial Draconic Incubus With A Gourmet Chef System

Chapter 80 Brave Yet Stupid

Then Jie Deng looked at the three mysterious figures on the roof and slightly bowed his head in their direction."Seniors, we still have much to prepare for the Secret Realm. We hope you all don't mind, but we cannot personally entertain you. If there is a chance in the future, we hope you will grant us the honor."

Jie Deng deliberately said 'we' while glaring at Chu Wen from the corner of his eyes.

'Just you wait old bastard.' Chu Wen thought viciously, with a hint of killing intent flashing in her green reptilian eyes. 'After I'm done dealing with the three of them, it won't be too late to deal with you.'

'Hmm?' Lucian silently frowned when he sensed killing intent directed at them.

'Interesting. What a petty woman.'

Fenwick noticed Lucian's expression and whispered, "Did something happen?"

Lucian shrugged and replied quietly, "Chu Wen is harboring malicious intentions toward us. You and Lily should be careful."

Fenwick nodded with a frown, while grateful for the advice. If not for his words, he would have never known.

After a few moments, Fenwick finally replied to Jie Deng, "It's fine, we don't mind."

He hoped they would leave soon. As for visiting their manors? That would never happen. He was too busy for such a thing.

After hearing his response, he and the other Ancestors jumped off their towers and went to their respective manors to prepare.

For a long few minutes, even after the Ancestors had left, none of the residents reacted. What they heard was too shocking and sudden to make a decision. After all, it concerned their lives.

Back on the roof, Lily leaned closer until her lips were next to Lucian's ears before whispering in a voice only he could hear.

"Big Brother Lucian, we have to hurry or your rewards will be stolen by others."

Despite not hearing what Lily had said, Fenwick's eyes twitched with displeasure.

'I've watched you grow from when you were just born, yet now you are keeping secrets from me!?'

"There's no reason to be in a rush. Without the key, which only I have, the Moon Grove Forest Secret Realm will never open." Lucian whispered back into her ears. His warm breath brushing against her cheeks caused an electrical jolt to run down her body.

'T-too close! Big Brother Lucian is too close!' Lily's cheeks reddened as she backed away from him. Earlier, she had been too focused. Therefore, when she had whispered into his ear, she had not realized how close she was to him.

Lucian silently chuckled at her adorable reaction.

"I've decided!" Suddenly, a middle-aged Human man spoke, breaking the silence that had lasted for many minutes.

Instantly, everyone's gazes turned to him, making him slightly nervous.

After gulping nervously, he continued, "I spent fourteen years trying to break through to the Tendon Tempering Realm, yet failed every time, until finally giving up. Now that I am a Tendon Tempering Realm Mage, I know advancing again is impossible for me… but I no longer want to experience that sorrow."

"I'm going to enter the Secret Realm… a-and if I die in there, I die. So, what? It's not like I have a family." Then, without waiting for a response, he left to prepare.

The middle-aged man's sudden declaration stunned residents. Unconsciously, they all followed his back as he disappeared. Even after he had disappeared, they kept staring in that direction. Soon, as his words continued to ring in their heads, many of the residents' hesitation vanished. Some nodded, while others were apprehensive.

"I've also struggled for many years without progress," A middle-aged Human woman sighed, and then she continued in a voice trembling in fear, yet with resolve, "I can't let this opportunity slip by. Who knows, I might get lucky, and my life will change!?"

"My family barely gets by every day." A young man clenched his fists. "If I can find something valuable in the Secret Realm. I can finally give them a better life. I will take the risk."

A brawny Human man with scars covering his entire body laughed uproariously and said with confidence, "I've faced death so many times that I lost count after the tenth time. The Secret Realm is merely another challenge. Now that I've been given this chance, I'd be damned and cursed by my future kids if I don't go in and become an expert."

As he began making his way home, he continued, "If not for the Secret Realm diverting attention away from our city, we would have been overrun by Mages. However, after the Secret Realm what or who will protect us? If you want to protect our city's peace, then I suggest joining me."

His words seemed to be the final nail in the coffin as more people seemed to be emboldened. One by one, they made their decisions, and like dominoes, the others followed, not wanting to be left out.

"I'm going in" My children deserve a better future!."

"Hahaha, I want to live for a hundred generations!"

"A hundred generations only!? Brother, I'm going to live forever!"

Back on the rooftop, Fenwick watched the residents as though they were dead men walking.

"These people are brave." He said to Lucian and continued, "But they are too naive. Do they really think they can contend against Mages from the other cities? They would be lucky enough to come out alive after entering."

<{Quest: Protect your customers.}>

<{As the Territory Lord, how can you watch as your customers march to their deaths? Without customers, you are nothing more than a home cook.}>

<{Reward: Dragon's Breath Skill and Dragon's Breath Egg Fried Rice.}>

"Those who fear the unknown will never grow!" Lucian said after reading the System Notifications.

He then looked at Lily and continued, "I need to pack my kitchen equipment before we leave. What about you?"

"Why does Big Brother Lucian need to pack his kitchen equipment?" Lily asked with a tilt of her head before realizing, "Oh, right. Hehehe, Lily forgot, Big Brother Lucian has to cook for Lily."

"Although that is true, there is another reason. Since there will be many Mages gathering in the Moon Grove Forest wanting to enter the Secret Realm, it's a perfect opportunity to make money."

And then he added via Voice Transmission, [And since only I have the key, I'll be sure to squeeze them dry of all of their Low-Grade Mana Stones before finally opening the Secret Realm.]

'...' Lily's beautiful pink eyes widened after hearing Lucian's words.

Only after a moment of silence, did she giggle, "Hehehe~! Big Brother Lucian is really bad~!"

Fenwick shook his head tiredly.

"Are you going inside the Secret Realm, Lily?"

"Of course." Lily nodded.

"Very well. I know I can't stop you."

Lily's eyes widened in surprise. "Does that mean Uncle Fen will allow me to go?"

"I don't have a choice but to allow you to go. But that doesn't mean I'll allow you to go alone. I'm coming with you. And don't worry about your mother. She will be perfectly fine."

'… I wasn't going alone.' She pouted and glanced profoundly at Lucian.

"Let's go," Lucian said after their conversation ended.

After a few minutes, they arrived in front of his restaurant, which automatically unlocked as he reached for the doorknob.

"I'll be done packing in a few minutes," Lucian said to them and entered his messy kitchen.

[Host, everything within the kitchen has been contaminated by the Drunken Monkey Blood Wine. Normally, the Runic Symbols would have cleaned the kitchen and all equipment; however, they have been destroyed. Even if they were not destroyed, the lightning from the Universal Tribulation has caused irreparable damage to the entire kitchen.] The System suddenly said.

[Then what do you suggest?] Lucian asked.

[Since it was the System's fault that caused the kitchen to be ruined, I will provide a temporary portable kitchen with all necessary equipment. However, do keep in mind that you can only keep it until you have sufficient space for the remodeling of your restaurant.]

Temporary Grade Zero Portable Kitchen has been added.

[Don't think for a second that this is enough for me to forgive you after giving me a future calamity to babysit.] Lucian indifferently said before remembering, [Also, where is my free Chef's Uniform?]

Just after Lucian spoke, a dark purple mist covered his body, and the white and gold robe he was wearing disappeared before being replaced with a white Chef's Uniform. At the same time, a Chef's Hat appeared on his head.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

[Not bad! It seems after you're Rank was forcefully upgraded you became more competent.] Lucian praised the System in a serious tone, leaving the System speechless.

Meanwhile, within the dining area, Lily and Fenwick calmly sat at one of the tables, waiting for Lucian to finish packing.

"Lily, a Secret Realm is no joke. It's not a playground where anyone can enter and leave." Fenwick said seriously while glancing at Lucian through the kitchen window.
