Chapter 19
This strange scene left the audience bewildered.
The next challenger turned out to be a child?!
The referee widened his eyes, carefully examining the photo on the list and then looking at the figure in the arena, his expression filled with both strangeness and confusion.
Why does this seem a bit different?
On the arena, the massive Blob furrowed his brow, struggling to lower its head to look at the "little one" before him.
When he saw the figure clearly, the fat on its face twitched as he was speechless.
Of course, he knew the rules of the underground fighting arena.
He knew that the arena would arrange opponents for him to beat up.
But could a kid really handle the beatdown?!
In the VIP box, Alex, upon seeing the scene in the arena, especially the challenger who was clearly a child, had a change in his previously calm expression, turning ugly.
He furrowed his brow tightly, his eyes gleaming with sharpness.
Watching adult mutants fight was one thing.
But damn it, these black forces actually allowed a child to step onto the arena for a battle. He couldn't bear it.
His gaze firmly fixed on the arena, Alex gradually got up.
Although he came here today for other matters, he couldn't just sit back and watch a child get hurt!
"It looks like I have to take action early."
With that in mind, Alex quietly left the VIP box.
As he was leaving, a woman with a noble appearance, golden long hair, and a young aristocratic look, gracefully made her way to the VIP box's location.
The young aristocrat's gaze fell upon the arena, and when she saw the figure of the child on it, her eyes flickered slightly.
The audience and referees each had their own reactions.
For Yu Feng, he didn't care about anything else. Today, he was here to experience real combat for the first time.
It was one of his training objectives.
After all, actual combat in the arena was definitely different from regular training.
First of all, the atmosphere was very different.
The arena naturally exuded a feeling that made one's blood boil.
This feeling made Yu Feng extremely focused. It was as if every cell in his body was cheering and jumping with joy, regardless of who the opponent was.
All he needed to do was enjoy the battle!
This peculiar and special feeling made Yu Feng know that he had come to the right place today.
Sometimes, what could truly baptize a warrior was not a powerful opponent, but the atmosphere!
For example, a life-and-death battle that everyone focused on!
Or the conquests of two armies on a battlefield!
This was a kind of training that nurtured a strong heart. Yu Feng originally thought the descriptions in books were somewhat exaggerated, but now that he had experienced it firsthand, he knew it was not an exaggeration.
He looked up at the Blob before him, which seemed abnormally large to him, like a giant, then looked at the referee outside the iron cage, and calmly said:
"May I ask if the battle can begin?"
Hearing this voice deliberately made deep and still carrying a slightly immature tone, everyone in their hearts had no more doubts. They knew that the one who was about to fight the Blob was indeed a child.
"Um…"
The referee, who was also in charge of this underground fighting arena, opened his mouth, hesitating for a moment. After all, there was a difference between a child and an adult.
But soon, a hint of cruelty appeared in his eyes.
Although he didn't know where this brat came from, compared to the originally arranged person, having a mutant child fight the Blob would undoubtedly attract more attention.
And that meant more money!
This money shouldn't be left unearned!
Moreover, everything was the fault of this brat who appeared out of nowhere, seeking his own death. He couldn't blame the referee for being cruel. Thinking of this, the referee suddenly smiled and, holding the microphone, loudly announced:
"Of course, the battle can begin! But young challenger, please first tell us your name so that when you win, we can cheer your name and have your name forever engraved on the honor medal of our Blazing Fighting Arena!"
There was a strong sense of mockery in the referee's words.
Hearing this, the surrounding audience burst into laughter, although the cheers were not as fervent as before, it was evident that their interest had been piqued.
A mutant child fighting the monstrous Blob?
What kind of tragic scene would unfold next?
It seemed rather intriguing.
"Name?"
Yu Feng calmly said, "For a name, just call me Flash."
"Alright!!"
Upon hearing the referee's words, he immediately picked up the microphone and began to build up the atmosphere. "Next, let us welcome our undefeated Blob, who has achieved a record of 56 wins and 0 losses, to battle against this mysterious kid—Flash!"
"There are no rules in the fight! Fight until one side falls and can no longer get up!"
"Three! Two! One! Let the battle begin!!"
It must be said that the referee was truly skilled at building up the atmosphere. After a few words, the entire audience erupted into shouts and chants of "Blob," with some even shouting, "Tear this brat apart"!
The atmosphere in the venue momentarily reached a small climax.
However…
Just then, quite abruptly, the whole place fell silent.
"Hmm?"
The referee hadn't even had a chance to put down the microphone when he heard the sudden silence around him. He was puzzled and looked toward the arena.
What he saw made his eyes nearly pop out.
He saw that the enormously massive Blob had flown into the air without warning. his entire body slammed against the electrified mesh of the iron cage, followed by the sound of sizzling electricity and the smell of burnt flesh.
"Boom!"
In the next moment, the Blob crashed onto the arena, causing the ground to shake violently.
Witnessing this, everyone gulped and took a deep breath.
They were dumbfounded.
Silence fell.
What…what is this!
The referee had just announced the start, and the Blob was already sent flying, looking so miserable?!
What the hell happened just now?!!
