Chapter 449 448: Surprising Encounter
449 448: Surprising Encounter
The experience of teleporting using the ancient stone of Gravenstone City was a unique sensation for Corey. It was different from the previous long-distance teleportations he had gone through. It felt smoother, more comfortable, and it was also faster.
Only those who had a high affinity for space or had unique senses would be able to notice this difference. To those who had no affinity for space or a low affinity, the teleportation would seem normal and there'd be no difference to them.
As Corey moved through space at an extremely fast speed, he instinctively wanted to use his Eyes of Omniscience, but after thinking of his experience in the Void where he almost died and lost his sight, he decided to use his Tri-Pupil Eyes.
'I think I'll be using my Tri-Pupil Eyes for things related to space and time from now on. It feels more suitable for things related to space and time.'
Corey thought, and then he silently gazed at the dark space around him. When his eyes changed, he no longer saw only pure darkness, but a multitude of colored lines around him.
'Wow.'
Corey was slightly awed, but before he could look around to observe more, he felt a change to his body and surroundings.
He involuntarily blinked, and then he felt himself standing on his two feet. Corey looked around, and the first thing that caught his attention was a massive man sitting on a chair a few meters to his right. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Corey felt his nerves become slightly tense as he stared at the man. His instincts warned him that the man was dangerous.
The man was shirtless, had a long black ponytail, and he wore black trousers and brown sandals. On the man's massive arms and upper body were countless rune tattoos.
'A Dreadkeeper.'
Just as Corey had this thought, the massive man who had his eyes closed and his arms crossed, opened his eyes and glanced in Corey's direction.
The man first took a glance at Corey, and then he shifted his gaze to his left where Pamela stood.
With a nonchalant expression, the man spoke;
"From where?"
"Gravenstone City."
Pamela answered, and the man nodded.
"Do you know the rules?"
The man asked, and Pamela, Corey, and Selene nodded. Although Selene did not have the same passion that Pamela and Corey had, she knew what ignorance could lead to.
Meanwhile, unlike cities of New Earth before and after the apocalypse where there were so many rules and laws that one would feel shackled, the shattered dimension of the Old Ones was much different.
The number one law in most cities of the shattered dimension was that there should be no killing or destruction of structures and properties in a city.
Fighting was allowed, but the amount of chaos and destruction caused by a fight determined the type of punishment that would be given at the end of the day.
Also, one could kill, but the problem was when one got caught.
Seeing that Corey, Pamela, and Selene did not ask him any questions pleased the Dreadkeeper, and he nodded slightly.
"What of your ancient seals? Temporary or Permanent?"
"Temporary." Corey answered.
"Temporary." Selene answered.
The Dreadkeeper said with his tone full of surprise. He shifted his gaze from Pamela to Selene, and then back to Pamela.
"Since you have a permanent ancient seal, you'll be given the temporary ancient seal without having to go through all the tests and probation."
The Dreadkeeper shifted his gaze from Pamela to Corey, then to Selene.
"As for you guys that have temporary ancient seals, you'll need to obtain a temporary ancient seal from our city or if you have the capabilities, you can obtain a permanent ancient seal."
"You-"
"We want a two-week pass."
The Dreadkeeper was about to continue speaking, but Corey's voice cut him off.
The Dreadkeeper stared at Corey with a flat expression, but Corey, Selene, and Pamela knew that the man was displeased at Corey for cutting him off.
However, Corey did not care and he continued staring at him with a flat expression.
He was grateful that he chose to go to the library and interact with some of the citizens of Gravenstone for more knowledge. It was because of this that he was able to know that one could request for a pass in a city if one does not have a temporary ancient seal or a permanent ancient seal.
However, a pass was not given so easily.
Three seconds later, the Dreadkeeper finally spoke,
"Since you're asking for it, then you should know that a pass is not just given because one asks for it."
Corey nodded, "I plan on entering Raging Sky."
The instant Corey said these words, the eyes of Pamela and the Dreadkeeper widened.
"You want to enter the Raging Sky with your capabilities? According to the system of you Outsiders, you should be a tier 2, and somebody like you wants to enter Raging Sky?"
The Dreadkeeper asked with a tone filled with mockery and disdain as he gazed at Corey, however, and once again, Corey could not give two fucks about the opinion of the Dreadkeeper.
Corey just nodded, and the Dreadkeeper scoffed.
"Do what you wish. Outsiders like you who think that because you'll be resurrected you can do anything you want, even if the thing is extremely stupid."
The Dreadkeeper scoffed once again, and then he gazed at Corey with the same expression of disdain.
"A two-week pass is possible, but since you asked for it, you should know that you would not be allowed to stay or enter the city even for an extra day once the period of your pass is over. You must have obtained your temporary ancient seal by then."
Corey nodded, and the Dreadkeeper waved his hand in a 'shooing' manner.
"Alright. You may leave."
Corey, Pamela, and Selene did not waste any second in leaving, but just as they were about to pass the Dreadkeeper, a figure appeared some meters before them, and when Corey saw the figure, his eyes widened slightly in surprise.
"Triple X?"
