Chapter 791: Wild Gorilla Army’s Secret Weapons

Chapter 791: Wild Gorilla Army’s Secret Weapons

“Is it ready or not? Hurry up!” Behind the metal barrier, a Rank Five Gorilla God impatiently urged the robot in front of it.

“We only have enough Dwarf Bombs for one round of attack—are you sure you want to use it now? We won’t be able to bring in more weaponry for now as setting up space wormholes and transporting the supplies will take time," the robot replied.

“Damn it! If we don’t use it now, we might not get another chance! Look at how many of those Magus Civilization troops we’re up against!” the Rank Five Gorilla God cursed.

“Once I engage in battle with Water Gorilla God and the others, remember to bring out those secret weapons you’ve prepared,” it reminded.

The robot’s lights flashed red and blue as it considered the Gorilla God’s demands.

In the end, it decided against rejecting the anxious Rank Five creature’s request and simply said, “I’ll coordinate with the other nearby fronts and try our best to strike simultaneously.”

“This is the only way to catch the Magus World Army off guard and maximize the impact,” it added coldly.

"Fine, whatever—just do it. Damn it, why does this Magus World Army keep growing? What kind of civilization is this?” the Rank Five Gorilla God cursed again.

On the frontline...

With Green Spikefur King’s skillful maneuvers, Sein quickly closed in on the metal front.

In the chaotic battlefield before them, lives were being lost every moment amidst the relentless screams and energy explosions.

Several magic shields appeared around Sein, but within seconds, three of them had already shattered.

Yet he remained unharmed—protected not only by Green Spikefur King, who absorbed many frontal attacks, but also by the vigilant Kingfisher perched on his shoulder, which warded off threats from above.

Sein unleashed several powerful spells, taking down numerous foes at the edge of the metal front.

However, Sein and the Green Spikefur King were careful not to rush to the top of the barrier.

Only a fool would charge forward so early; it was the cannon fodder’s role to wear down as many enemy forces as possible.

Amidst the onslaught, the one hundred thousand knights from the Order of the Fiery Molten Mountain among the millions of magic beasts, advanced with caution.

Despite their formidable constitution, none had stormed the front yet.

The intensely violent battle worked to the advantage of mages like Sein.

With a clear mind, they could focus on casting their strongest spells against the Wild Gorillas who, gradually succumbing to rage, abandoned both caution and strategy.

Many creatures tended to forget the imminent danger once they were lost in the thrill of battle.

Sein knew that this was when they became the most vulnerable.

There were many other calm hunters like him on this chaotic battlefield.

The impulsive nature of the Wild Gorillas was one of their greatest weaknesses.

All of a sudden, Sein caught sight of a row of pitch-black barrels emerging above the metal front held by the Wild Gorilla Army.

These dark barrels reminded him of the Magus Civilization’s magic cannons, though these were larger in diameter, with notably longer barrels.

The ominous muzzles of the cannons filled Sein with a sense of dread.

He had just warned Green Spikefur King to stay alert when the barrels unleashed a devastating volley of fire upon the Magus World Army.

Black balls were shot out of the cannons’ barrels. Though their flight was slow, they caught their enemies off guard.

Faced with the sudden barrage of black balls filling the sky, the Magus World Army managed to intercept and shoot down about a third of them using a variety of attacks.

Violent explosions and shockwaves erupted across the battlefield sky, each detonation releasing energy levels that exceeded everyone’s expectations.

For a Rank Two mage like Sein, who had mastered the elemental body, even a direct encounter with these explosions would likely be fatal. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

The sheer force of the blasts was a brutal surprise.

The remaining two-thirds of the black cannonballs continued their trajectory, hurtling toward the densest formations of the Magus World Army.

Since the Wild Gorilla Army was in a defensive position on elevated terrain along the metal line, the extreme explosive power and shockwaves created only a ring of air waves that rolled backward, dispersing toward their defense line.

From the moment Sein spotted the black balls, he sensed danger. At his command, Green Spikefur King twisted its bulky body and swung its tail to the side, veering off to a direction where the Magus World’s forces were sparser.

Yet, Sein’s proximity to the metal line meant he was dangerously close to the impact zone.

Three black cannonballs fell near him—one at a safer distance, while the other two landed much closer, one on his left and the other on his right.

Sein was caught in between the sudden explosion and energy shockwave that shook him to the core and nearly disintegrated his activated elemental body.

All of his defensive magic shields were obliterated in an instant.

If not for the timely protection from Green Spikefur King and Kingfisher, and the fact that the green hedgehog had considerably strong resilience, Sein might have lost his life in this unexpected attack.

As expected, interplanar war was perilous under any circumstances.

Despite the Magus Civilization's apparent advantage over the Wild Gorilla World—and the Magus World’s leadership largely dismissing the threat posed by this medium-sized world—a vast difference in power could not eliminate risk entirely.

It could only reduce the overall number of casualties.

This reality was especially true for low-level creatures caught in the thick of battle.

Sein felt death’s chilling proximity once again; the last time he had felt this way was when he faced the demigod-level giant tree in the Verdant Leaf World.

His exceptional constitution and mental focus quickly pulled him out of his dizziness and other discomforts.

When he looked up, he saw that much of the frontline battlefield had been completely “scoured”.

The acrid scent of smoke mixed with the stench of blood and decaying flesh created a nauseating atmosphere.

Everywhere he looked, massive black craters dotted the battlefield. There was nothing left behind in them—not even a chunk of flesh.

The victims must have been evaporated in that instant.

This was true annihilation.

The Magus World Army had suffered catastrophic losses in this unexpected assault, likely losing no fewer than two million.

Not just the magic beasts and enslaved creatures, but even knights and mages had also perished in considerable numbers.

There were also likely severe casualties among the two thousand mages that Lorianne had deployed as elite troops.

Even with his two demigod-level protectors, Sein had barely escaped unscathed.

Against such overwhelming power, low-ranking creatures could only pray for luck to survive.

Fortunately, the black balls’ explosions left some “blind spots” and troops at the rear of the Magus World Army had avoided the worst.

Those further back were tossed by the air waves but had not faced the full horror head-on.

“This definitely isn’t a tactic designed to counter Rank Two or Rank Three creatures! If Wild Gorilla World had this kind of weapon, why didn’t they use it sooner?” Sein muttered, glancing at the bloody gash on Green Spikefur King’s flank.

As he prepared to contact Leena and the other mages from the Divine Tower of Verdant Spring to check on their status, he noticed a dark dragon claw descending from the sky above.

The Magus World Army’s heavy losses had stirred Black Oblivion, the leader of the magic beasts.

The recent explosions had drastically thinned out the number of creatures capable of flight on the battlefield.

Now, only a few demigod-level beings hovered above, among them the demigod centaur, Maya, whom Sein noticed in the distance.

Black Oblivion’s strike was aimed directly at the row of cannon barrels along the Wild Gorilla Army’s metal line.

One volley had already inflicted devastating losses on the Magus Civilization Army—how many more could they withstand?

With an immense, black dragon claw, exuding overwhelming power, Black Oblivion reached down toward the dark weapons.

Even from a distance, Sein could see every lifelike scale on the dragon claw.

It was clearly not Black Oblivion’s actual claw but rather a colossal energy construct, formed through his unique manipulation of energy. Its sheer size spanned hundreds of meters.

Such impressive ability was the hallmark of creatures of Rank Four and above.

As soon as Black Oblivion made a move, the other Magus World powerhouses above the clouds joined in.

Closest in strength to Black Oblivion was Milena, the white tiger, and Oneille, a Rank Five knight.

Milena summoned a downpour of silver-white energy meteors that crashed into the Wild Gorilla Army.

Oneille swung his round-bladed battle axe, its surface blazing with pyro elemental particles, creating the impression of a miniature sun descending from the heavens.

These powerful attacks drew out the Gorilla Gods of Rank Four and above from the Wild Gorilla Clan.

Three Gorilla Gods emerged, each radiating a distinct “domain”, taking their places above the battlefield.

Sein, who had once received the divine fire from a Rank Five being, learned from Master Lorianne that creatures of Rank Four and above who had chosen the path of godhood possessed “divine domains” and “divine abilities” of their own.

Although the knights and mages of Magus World rarely pursued godhood, those of Rank Four and above also commanded unique domain powers.

The appearance of the three Gorilla Gods prompted Black Oblivion to unleash a thundering curse. His furious dragon roar swept across the battlefield, and his mighty dragon aura caused many weaker creatures to collapse to their knees in fear.

However, before Black Oblivion’s curses could continue, a light blue energy beam shot out from behind the metal line.

Despite his swift attempt to evade, the energy beam chanted its trajectory, seemingly locked onto him as he sped away.

In the end, it struck Black Oblivion’s dragon tail with unerring precision.

A pained roar echoed from above the clouds as Black Oblivion’s massive dragon form plummeted toward the ground.
