Chapter 107 Major Event One: Battle of the Dragon Ninja (2)

July 4, 10:45 AM, Luo Dehua Commercial Street, Gibran Bookstore.

Ke Yinzhi placed a book in the gap between the shelves, then stuffed his hands into his coat pockets and leaned the back of his head against the wall, tilting his head to look ahead.

The black earrings swayed, emitting a clear, tinkling sound.

His gaze traveled through the narrow passageway between two bookshelves, spotting a tall, thin figure walking towards him with his back to the light, hands clasped behind him, every move displaying solemnity.

"Oh, an Ink Writer?"

Ke Yinzhi raised an eyebrow and turned to ask Ke Xiaomo, who was beside him, "Isn't the extermination of the Calamity Dragon a private affair of the Ninja Sect? Why would a superhero appear here?"

"I had told you before that the Ink Writer was trained by the Ninja Sect," Ke Xiaomo said

as he too calmly observed the Ink Writer coming down the street.

"Huh... then how did he end up becoming a superhero?" Ke Yinzhi continued.

"Because he learned forbidden magic, the Ink Writer was expelled by the Sect Master. After several years of absence, he became a superhero in Huanjing. The Sect Master must have summoned him this time to give him a chance to redeem himself," Ke Xiaomo explained.

"I see, you did mention that," Ke Yinzhi realized, "His abilities are related to ink; indeed, it would be hard to disconnect him from the Ninja Sect."

"No surprise, you've always had a bad memory," Ke Xiaomo remarked sarcastically.

While speaking, he glanced out of the corner of his eye through the window. It was evident that nearly every passerby on the street was disguised as a ninja, a rather unsettling observation.

Ke Xiaomo closed his eyes, heightened all his senses, absorbing the aura of the street.

After a moment, he opened his eyes and said, "There are more than a hundred ninjas on the street."

"I noticed," Ke Yinzhi smiled, "but it seems they're not after that dragon, they're watching you. Xiao Mo, what exactly did you do to upset them?"

"I… don't know."

Ke Xiaomo mused expressionlessly, his eyes shifting subtly.

At that moment, clad in a white robe, the Ink Writer was walking on the street of Luo Dehua Commercial Street, slowly stepping into the bookstore from the entrance.

With his hands behind his back, he slowly lifted his face, his gaze fixed on Ke Xiaomo.

He cleared his throat and began, "You are Ke Xiaomo, right?"

"Yes."

"I shall consider myself your senior for now. I am here to relay the Sect Master's orders to you. Just wait here; you won't need to lift a finger for this operation," the Ink Writer said.

"Why?" Ke Xiaomo asked.

The Ink Writer shook his head, his tone resolute, "No further details."

Then, he turned to look at Ke Yinzhi and said, "As for the one beside you, I adhere to a principle — I don't attack ordinary people... By the authority of the Superhero Association, I order you to wait outside earnestly."

Upon hearing this, Ke Yinzhi initially was taken aback, then lowered his head and chuckled softly.

"What's so funny?" the Ink Writer frowned.

Ke Yinzhi covered his face with his hand and laughed a bit more. Then he slowly looked up, a faint smile curling at the corner of his mouth.

"Isn't it funny? Using the Superhero Association's name to order me around, that's the funniest joke I've heard this year."

"Who are you?"

"Ah, who am I indeed?" Ke Yinzhi tilted his head, still leaning against the wall, "No wait, you're not worthy to know my name."

"Such arrogance, clearly a nobody," the Ink Writer said icily.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

No sooner had he finished than a sharp explosion emanated from Wanxiang City, followed by a beastly roar loud enough to shake the heavens, like a dragon's cry.

Hearing the noise from the direction of Wanxiang City, Ke Xiaomo's face turned pale as he muttered gravely, "Xiao Ni and the others are still inside Wanxiang City!"

Ke Yinzhi's expression also shifted slightly.

"Could it be... the Calamity Dragon you're looking for is currently inside Wanxiang City?" he asked.

The Ink Writer sneered and responded, "That's right, inside Wanxiang City. It seems you brothers share quite a bond, even knowing such details."

He paused, then sarcastically remarked to Ke Xiaomo, "Keeping the Calamity Dragon's matter strictly confidential from outsiders is what the Ninja Sect enforces. Hasn't the Sect Master taught you that?"

Ke Xiaomo's expression chilled.

"My family is still in that mall; I must ensure their safety. I suggest you get out of the way," he said.

"It's the Sect Master who told me to stop you, and he didn't disclose the specifics to me," the Ink Writer replied.

"The Sect Master?"

Ke Xiaomo frowned.

"Yes," the Ink Writer confirmed, "I don't know what the old man is thinking, but I have no choice. Anyway, letting you, my junior, cross in front of me, I might not be able to face returning to the Ninja Sect afterward."

Saying this, a cold look flashed in his eyes.

Ke Xiaomo took a deep breath and whispered to Ke Yinzhi beside him, "Leave these people to you; I need to go first."

As he finished speaking, his body transformed into a splash of ink that merged into the shadows on the ground.

Then... in that half-second, the Ink Writer, as if anticipating this, swiftly unfurled a scroll while softly chanting, "Seal Shadow Barrier."

As his words finished, the scroll burst apart, transforming into a pure white barrier that enveloped the library. Continue your saga on empire

The weasel-like shadow formed by Ke Xiaomo kept slamming against the barrier's edges but couldn't shake it in the slightest, nor could it pass through.

"It's useless; this is a barrier specifically against the Shadow Shapeshifting Skill. You can't..."

The Ink Writer's words were cut short as his pupils suddenly dilated.

Ke Yinzhi nonchalantly raised his right hand, a jet of black light bursting from his fingertips, instantly opening a slit in the barrier.
