The Earth After Rebirth

Chapter 447 Tale of Old

"Haha you must think you're so important don't you?" Commander Boyd asked while laughing maniacally.

He didn't miss a beat and planted his fist on Sekani's stomach. Sekani coughed, it was quite hard doing so since he was upside down with blood trickling down his nose into his mouth. It was quite the mess.

"I don't think," he coughed some more struggling to even speak but he wanted to. "I'm important at all, but also, I doubt you're that important yourself."

He needed to keep himself conscious and so he did the only thing that was readily available, talking and getting punched occasionally for saying things that pissed off the Commander.

"It shows that you have not met anyone who would put you in your place, I don't know what Blakeson was waiting for?" He said treating his head like a football.

Sekani couldn't help but laugh at his statement. No one to put him in his place? There have been plenty before his son removed them from slums.

The people from the slums didn't just have to watch their backs from the government and the rich but they also had to watch their backs against the people from the slums, who would absolutely throw anyone under the bus if it meant they got to step up in the ladder.

"Typical rich puppet. Thinking they know even a glimpse of what people in the lower district go through." Sekani spat defiantly.

Commander Boyd was huffing and puffing, he was clearly a man who sat behind his desk, giving orders. This little exercise he was doing left him exhausted.

He was wheezing, he didn't pretend otherwise. Sekani could see the look in his eyes, if he didn't get answers in the next minute he would do something he would regret.

"You're talking to me with that filthy mouth? You know, I've learned so many ways I can make you talk. Plucking your teeth one by one should be another." The commander quickly calmed himself from the state of craze he was in and said.

Sekani was resolved to not say anything but the fact that this commander was going for something that would take quite a long time heal was proof to him that he'd pretty much given up.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

"I'll talk." A voice that was neither the Boyd's or Sekani sounded in the room, he was out for so long that they'd both forgotten he was also in the room with them.

"Silva, if you tell him anything, I'll walk over there and beat you senseless." Sekani spat between rugged breaths.

"I can take you on no problem, I can even help you out just so I can hit you some." He shot back getting up from his chair.

He realised then that his legs refused to carry him, he'd never been this exhausted in his life. Jesús used two of his hands to grab the corners of the table.

"Dammit. Seems like I won't be able to walk over there."

"Where do you think you are?" Commander Boyd said shoving him back to his chair with ease. "Now, talk!" He demanded.

Jesús breathed deeply taking in the musty rotten air and coughing in the process. He looked up and the man had already sat where Sekani had sat, waiting, listening.

"I'll have to start this from the very beginning, like, way before you and I were born, is that alright?"

Boyd was skeptical but he had all the time in the world so he nodded his head for Jesús to continue his story. He hoped that this was a confession of some kind.

He sat there, taking a break he was exhausted from beating both of them senseless and also attentively listening to the man in front of him who was rumbling about tales of old, about a secret group that controlled almost everything in their society.

"So this thing, the sanctum, was created more than five hundred years ago by certain families who wanted to protect this world but like all good things, it was corrupted and now it looks out for itself?" Boyd asked sighing loudly, this was something he already knew after all.

"Yes and..." Jesús started counting the families who were a part of it by names.

"So even the Silvas are a part of these shenanigans, which makes sense why you were up that mountain?" Boyd calmly tried to lead him to a confession.

"While my family was part of the founders, I've been trying to fine evidence to expose them. Of course they played these things closely to their chest, even from someone like me. It was thanks to..."

"Ahem." Sekani cleared his throat, he didn't want his family being named here. It was clear that this man wasn't here for the truth he was here to pin this on them.

Jesús ignored him, Eldric's name deserved to be known and respected in his opinion.

Stay tuned with empire

"It was all thanks to Eldric Waynworth that we had this information of the corrupt government and the few families it's working with." A satisfied smirk appeared on his face while Boyd was seemingly angry.

"I can't believe you've wasted so much of my time, spinning a tale that's nothing but lies." He sighed, "to think you'd actually confess to your sins." A smile cracked on his face ignoring everything Jesús had said and focusing on the fact that his family was one of the founders of the sanctum.

Jesús laughed, "seriously?"

"You were caught with that man at the scene of the crime. Now you're spinning this tale telling me about a secret society, don't worry, if there are any corrupt government officials, we will catch them."

Sekani sighed, swinging from the ceiling. He more or less knew that no matter what they said, this man would twist it to suit his own truth. But he had no idea that Jesús said anything at all to try and save his life.

"Then I'll get back to my work, do you have any idea what's allowed to happen to anyone who breaks the law?" A sinister grin cracked his lips wide open.

The door burst open as he picked up a tool to pluck teeth no doubt. Williams came in with eyes full of horror.

"You better have a good reason to disturb me like this."

"Live...this is, all of this has been live sir."
