Chapter 394 Disappearance.
"Master!"
"Oh no..." Jena approached Sol, passing Yu in a flash and grabbing his hand while he was drifting, steadying his crash and holding her hand to his chest. "He is alive, but barely," She announced while the others caught up.
"What do we do?" Fuhua asked first.
"Is there anything we can do?" Grecia asked right after teh Everstorm Princess. "Should we forego the expedition to the Grand Fae Dimension or is should we just return to The Grand Collective instead, nothing can move forward without him."
"Retuening with Master in this state would see the Grand annihilated in an instant." Jena quickly created a sleeping capsule fom the Emporium and encased Sol inside of it. "Master is the only reason that Giza has not outright attacked us, for whatever reason she is afraid of something inside of him, and we suspect that she has a similar fear towards Lady Ikaris."
"The great darkness fears them?" Yu asked, shocked since that seemed like a good enough reason to stay in the Grand and wage war.
"It is our belief, however, that does not make her incapable of killing them, on multiple occasions, master has clashed with Giza, he kept these encounters a secret because he lost each time, and she never truly attacked to kill him, it was only to ward him off whenever he got too close."
"It was because he continued to try and fail at suppressing even a small bit o her power that he decided to seek help from the outside; we still have no proof that she is afraid, for all we know it is merely a game to her, but for Umbra, Master is the clearest threat."
"If we take master back into the Grand in this state, he will know, and he will come seeking him out immediately."
"This seems a lot more complicated than I first imagined, I thought that there were clear contrasts between the light and dark, but they both seem like complex individuals that have baffled even the smartest minds..." Yu sighed.
The dragonkin heiress of Drifting Heaven began relaxing again when Jena created another mana sphere around all of them and began creating rings towards the Grand Fae Dimension once more. "Are we truly going to continue this crusade while he is still unconscious?" She asked, resting her hand on the strange machine Sol was placed in and staring ahead.
"We decided on a month, it has only been a hald of a week, thankfully, but the longer we remain stationary the closer that deadline comes, we must persist regardless of his currens state, no matter how dangerous it is." Jena nodded.
"Ling Fuhua, as Master's first disciple the burden of the system's command rests on your shoulders while he is inactive," She looked at the woman seriously.
[You have been designated as the Primary User of the System variant, Jena temporarily in the absence of Sol Vestic, this course will not end until the Master of the System is conscious and in sound mind again].
"I think Grecia would be a better fit, she is smarter than I am, and probably more loyal as well." Fuhua argued before the reigns were even passed over properly.
"Grecia what?" The woman in question asked, staring at Fuhua who had not realised that this was supposed to be done privately until Jena pinched her arm, standing at her side and staring at her silently.
"Uh... nothing," Fuhua shook her head.
[This is Master's wish, I am simply acting on his desires in the case of something of this nature happening].Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"Then what about Lady Yu?" Fuhua asked through the System rather than orally. "She is strong, I doubt she will listen to me who is many times weaker than she is."
"Master for the time being is unable to carry out his duties, do either of you have an issue following the disciple of Sol Vestic?" Jena turned to the two of them curiously.
"I want to return and fight my father to the death for what he has done..." Yu began slowly seething, gringing her teeth and clenching her fists. "hw may have doomed us all because of his pride-"
"Yu." Jena called.
"Uh, no, I have no qualms following Sister Ling's directive, I am stronger, but I know my place, this is not a strength based hierarchy," She clasped her hands respectfully and lowered her head. "Please, guide us to our next destination."
"I also have no qualms," Grecia did the same as Yu and then looked at Jena. "What about you though, you are his most loyal servant, what are your views on this?"
"My opinion is irrelevant, Master is unconscious and i was designed to serve, I will follow his wishes and listen to the guidiance of Ling."
"It was his wish?" Yu asked, "Why did you make it seem like this was a spontaneous act then?"
"As a test," Jena smiled and looked to the acceleration gate ahead of them. "The space between universes is quite short and there is virtually no friction whatsoever inside of the passage where mana is sparse because of the membrane empty matter keeping them apart, we will reach the next realm in a matter of seconds, one minute the maximum." She notified everyone and then paused, looking at Fuhua.
"Go?" Ling ordered unsure, and then sighed in relief when Jena nodded and the sphere took off.
"Jena, I am unsure of what I am supposed to do when we get there, you said you broke through the first one-"
"Drifting Heaven is at the edge of Source, it needs to have a powerful barrier, but usually the strongest a system's shell gets is easily broken by masters of Lady Grecia's level and above, sometimes lower as well.
"Then..." Fuhua looked to the woman who had done nothing to demonstrate her power since they had met her.
"It is preferable that she be the one," Jena nodded. "A recurring theme I have realised is that Vatui and Godslayers are underestimated beause others simply cannot sense their power, they are all anomalous beings to some degree, Master more than the rest, if Lady Grecia breaks the barrier without using mana, there will likely not even be an alarm, it is just a natural phenomenon.
"She can use mana?" Yu seemed shocked at this. "I thought that your people were unabele to."
"That was a choice, but as a result, our innate powers have grown unchecked," Grecia smiled when the sphere came to a halt and a shimmering field of endless curved lights came into view before them.
"Indeed this barrier is much weaker than the previous one, but for the sake of being thorough, make sure you put your back into it." Jena gave the woman a thumbs up and stepped to the side while the others followed her example and did the same.
"No System," Grecia stepped outside of the sphere, flexing her arms and stretching. "I have not demonstrated any significant power since leaving home, even at the expense of getting taken advantage of..." She stared at the barrier, resting her hand on it and seeing the membrane of energy flicker and ripple across her field of view and out of sight.
"Would you prefer to use a weapon?" Jena asked.
"No, thank you, but my bare fist should be enough," Grecia knocked on the barrier twice like a polite guest, and then Jena gasped and moved the sphere and everyone in it several thousand metres away when Grecia leaned forward and balled her fist, holding her other hand over it and closing her eyes.
"I sense no power within her-"
"And yet she has already amassed enough Vatui energy to destroy a small galaxy, this is what it means to be chosen by the very threads that spin evolution, the apex of living beings!"
Jena could hardly keep her excitement when Grecia unleashed what seemed like a weak punch, but turned out to be a devastating blow when the barrier created hundreds of ripples in a circular pattern before succumbing to the pressure of the woman's brute strength and ripping open.
"Amazing...!" Yu mused, staring at Grecia who smiled daintily while the Sphere caught and escorted them inside. "Are all Vatui like this?"
"Relying on their brute strength?" Grecia chuckled. "If that is what you mean, then yes."
"N-No, I mean are you all hiding your strength in this same way, if you are this powerful then why would you allow yourselves to be oppressed by the multiple Empires and the Conjoined Heavens?" She asked with a trickle of sweat rolling down her cheek. "With power such as yours-"
"There would be a war if they did that, the same as the one which happened in the Grand, for all we know there was one already," Fuhua interrupted. "Think about it, they have no mana, that is a choice, not a condition, when Vatui are born they are not like everyone else, they are far superior as a babe to any other species, but through grooming thay are convinced that Mana is not theirs to use, some are not even made aware of it at all!"
"Why would anyone want to wage war against them though?" Yu seemed confused.
"As it once was, my people probably ruled Source, that power was taken from them by everyone else through deceit, Master Vestic thinks this is what happened and i am inclined to believe him, there are grand palace ruins and great boundaries in my homeland, entire systems desolated without any history than not even I as the highest of Vatui royalty was ever allowed to enter or investigate." Grecia answered.
"If I use mana, though I am not proficient from a lack of practice, I can raise my strength by more than three times what I am capable of, imagine what I can do if I master it, we were suppressed by everyone around us because they feared the power we held, and those who went against that law were killed by the various masters before they could realise their potential-"
"Ah!?" Jena snapped, and after her Fuhua started searching as well with the other two starting to panic after a few seconds of confusion.
"Where did master go!?"
