Chapter 144 Jianghai's Friend
Upon receiving Qin Hao's call, Li Moying was momentarily stunned before she heard Wang Kai's words.
She could already guess that her mentor must have run into trouble; she promptly walked out of the classroom.
The teacher didn't say anything when he saw this since he knew Li Moying's identity and didn't dare to speak up.
Meanwhile, right after Qin Hao was taken away, Xu Siyao immediately made a call to her father.
When Xu Jiekang received the call from his daughter, he asked curiously, "What's wrong, daughter?"
Xu Siyao hurriedly spoke, "Dad, something seems to have happened to Qin Hao."
Xu Jiekang: "What happened to him?"
Xu Siyao: "I'm not very clear about the specifics, but a moment ago two policemen took him away. Can you go check on it, Dad?"
"Hmm, alright, I'm on my way. Which police station is it?"
"It should be the Xin Hai Police Station."
…
Less than half an hour after Qin Hao entered the Xin Hai Police Station, a limited edition Bugatti Veyron stopped at the entrance.
Li Moying got out of the car and walked straight into the police station.
Once inside the lobby, she asked, "Where's my mentor? Where have you detained him?"
"Miss, may I ask who you are looking for? Who is your mentor?" the front desk police officer asked curiously.
Li Moying: "My mentor is named Qin Hao, and you've arrested him. Where is he? I want to see my mentor."
"Please wait a moment."
A few minutes later, the police officer returned: "I'm sorry, madam, but you cannot go in."
Li Moying frowned, "Why can't I go in?"
"These are orders from above."
Li Moying took out her phone and made a call; once connected, she said, "Mr. Wang, your people have arrested my mentor, and now they won't even let me see him. They aren't using torture on my mentor, are they?"
Upon hearing this, Wang Lihe was full of frustration: "What kind of society do you think this is? How could such a thing be possible? What's your mentor's name? I'll make a call to inquire."
"He is called Qin Hao, at Xin Hai District Police Station."
After hanging up, the nearby police officer glanced at her. Mr. Wang?
This must be some top-ranking officer's disciple, right? Should I tell Captain Wang about this?
Just then, Wang Kai came in from behind; he wanted to see who was asking for Qin Hao. He had checked Qin Hao's background and discovered that he was a common student from Shuinan Province with no significant connections in Jianghai City.
The front desk officer hurriedly informed Wang Kai, "Captain Wang, this lady wishes to see Qin Hao."
Wang Kai glanced at Li Moying, a flash of admiration in his eyes.
But still, with a stern expression, he said, "Qin Hao is a criminal, and nobody can see him."
No sooner had he finished speaking than a slightly overweight middle-aged man came clattering down the stairs.
"Which one of you is Miss Li?" he asked, looking around the service hall.
Wang Kai and the surrounding police officers, upon seeing him, quickly said, "What's wrong, Director?"
Li Moying addressed the man, "That's me. Mr. Wang must have called you, right?"
"Mr. Wang told me. Miss Li, do you want to see your mentor?"
Li Moying nodded and said, "This man here says no one can see him. It seems that I can't either. I'll go back and talk to Mr. Wang about this."
Upon hearing this, Liu Haiping's expression changed, his tone became stern, "Wang Kai, did you say those words?"
Wang Kai: "Director, Qin Hao is a criminal."
Liu Haiping glared, "How come I never knew he was a criminal? Did I approve it, or did he confess himself? Cut the nonsense, lead Miss Li to him right away. Otherwise, you can pack your bags now."
Wang Kai's face froze, and then he remembered what Liu Haiping had just said, Mr. Wang? Could it be the one from the city?
At that thought, his complexion changed; if it really was that man, upsetting him wouldn't just be problematic for Wang Kai; even Liu Haiping might end up packing his bags and getting out.
Liu Haiping: "Why aren't you bringing Miss Li in yet?"
Realizing the urgency, Wang Kai quickly escorted the two people inside, and soon they arrived at the interrogation room.
As the door to the interrogation room opened, Li Moying hurried in to find Qin Hao sitting in the interrogation chair with his eyes closed.
"Master, I'm here," Li Moying quickly said.
But Qin Hao didn't respond. Liu Haiping looked at Wang Kai, wondering if this guy might have done something to Qin Hao.
Wang Kai was also puzzled. I haven't laid a hand on him; could he be pretending, trying to make things difficult for me on purpose?n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Seeing no reaction from Qin Hao, Li Moying went over and shook him, "Master?!"
Qin Hao opened his eyes groggily and said upon seeing Li Moying, "You're a bit early; I had just fallen asleep a moment ago."
...
The three of them had a moment of speechless frustration—you've got some nerve, bro; this is a police station.
Qin Hao looked at Wang Kai and said, "Officer Wang, shall we continue?"
Wang Kai's face was a bit awkward, "Mr. Qin, there are still some doubts in this case, I might have been too hasty earlier."
Too hasty?
I bet you just want to screw me over.
Qin Hao scoffed, "You were quite aggressive just now, Officer Wang."
Liu Haiping quickly came forward to mediate, "Mr. Qin, there's been a misunderstanding. How about if Officer Wang apologizes to you, and we let bygones be bygones?"
Right then, Li Moying's phone rang. She glanced at it and answered, "Hello, Mr. Wang."
Hearing Li Moying's reference, Liu Haiping and Wang Kai's expressions turned serious, they listened intently, trying to catch what their superior had to say.
But Li Moying kept her voice low, and they couldn't hear a thing, whereas Qin Hao, with his sharp senses, heard everything clearly.
The message from Li Moying's "Mr. Wang" was simple: downplay the big issues and dissolve the small ones. After all, these two men were his subordinates, and any trouble wouldn't look good for him either.
Liu Haiping and Wang Kai could probably guess the same; they might face discipline at most but were unlikely to lose their jobs.
Just as Li Moying hung up, Wang Kai's phone rang in his pocket—it was Qin Hao's phone, which he had confiscated earlier.
The ringing made Wang Kai somewhat embarrassed, and he quickly took out the phone and handed it to Qin Hao.
Qin Hao took the phone and saw an unfamiliar number: "Hello, this is Qin Hao speaking."
Xu Jiekang's voice came through from the other side, "Is that you, Qin Hao? It's Xu Jiekang. Are you alright? No trouble, I hope?"
Qin Hao paused, and then he remembered Xu Siyao.
She must have told Xu Jiekang about his situation.
Qin Hao replied, "Oh, it's Mr. Xu. I'm fine."
Xu Jiekang asked, "We're on our way; are you still at the station?
Qin Hao: "Still here."
"Then wait there, I'll be there shortly."
After hanging up, Li Moying asked curiously, "Master, who was that?"
"A friend from Jianghai. Let's wait a bit longer; he'll be here soon," Qin Hao said.
Li Moying nodded slightly and said no more.
They didn't have to wait long; Xu Jiekang arrived promptly, accompanied by someone else.
Seeing the person with Xu Jiekang, Liu Haiping and Wang Kai were so frightened they nearly collapsed...
