Chapter 710 How is That Possible?
Villain Ch 710. How is That Possible?
Azura's mind buzzed with a mixture of anxiety and uncertainty as she grappled with the realization that Allen's presence behind her was no mere coincidence. The pieces of the puzzle were starting to fit together in her mind, forming a picture she wasn't sure she wanted to see.
"But he could also be on business at Goldborne's Mansion," she reasoned silently, trying to cling to a more positive interpretation of the situation. It was a plausible explanation, one that she could use to alleviate her growing sense of unease. Yet, deep down, she couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to it than that.
Azura's thoughts raced. Should she confront Allen directly about his unexpected presence? The idea gnawed at her, but she quickly dismissed it. There were too many unknowns, too many variables that could turn the situation sour.
Meanwhile, the taxi driver, sensing Azura's restlessness, glanced at her through the rearview mirror, his brow furrowed with concern. "Are you okay, miss?" he inquired, his voice laced with genuine worry.
She forced a smile, masking her inner turmoil. "Yeah, I'm fine," she replied, her tone steady despite the whirlwind of emotions raging inside her. "Just take me to the address quickly. I'm in a hurry," she added, hoping to deflect any further inquiries.
The taxi driver nodded. "Okay," he said and returned his gaze to the street again.
'I have to do something.' Azura felt a surge of determination coursing through her as she tapped furiously on her phone's screen, her fingers flying across the keys with practiced speed. She needed to reach out to Emma, to let her know what was happening, even if she wasn't sure Emma would respond.
Azura: I'll arrive at your house in five minutes. Tell your guards to open the door for me. That Allen guy is following me.
Instead of stopping in front of the mansion, Azura devised a plan to ask the taxi driver to pull in, right up to the entrance rather than at the gates. It seemed like a small detail, but in her mind, it could make all the difference.
She knew that even if Emma didn't reply, she could count on the security measures in place at Goldborne's Mansion. The guards and butlers were trained to protect the family and their guests at all costs. They were skilled in hand-to-hand combat, proficient with weapons, and well-versed in self-defense techniques.
It was a necessary precaution for a family as wealthy and influential as the Goldbornes, who were constantly targeted by criminals and rivals alike.
Unexpectedly, this time, Emma replied to her text quickly.
Emma: I thought you would come here with Allen?
She immediately replied again. Her finger quickly typed the text. A frown appeared on her forehead.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Azura: He is a stranger for God's sake! I couldn't possibly take him to Goldborne's mansion. I'm in a taxi now.
Emma: Taxi? What the heck?! Why do you take a taxi? Last night you said you wanted to chat and spend time with him. This is your chance. Why are you wasting it?
Emma's words hit her like a ton of bricks. Sure, she wanted to spend time with Allen, but under normal circumstances. This wasn't some romantic movie where she met a stranger and instantly trusted them with her life. No, this was real life, and the situation with Allen was anything but normal. The way he seemed to appear out of nowhere, following her now – it all felt too eerie, too coincidental.
Azura couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had settled in the pit of her stomach.
Azura: Yes, but not like this! I was hoping for a more normal meeting. He's literally following me right now. I think he's stalking me.
After that, Emma didn't reply immediately. At least half a minute later, another text came in.
Emma: Fine. I'll ask the guards to stand by and open the gates for you.
Azura: Thank you. Also, tell them I'll ask the taxi to drive in. The plate number is 1-800-FLY.
Emma: Okay.
Azura swiftly tucked her phone back into her bag, her fingers deftly counting out the cash to pay for the taxi fare. She wanted to be prepared to make a quick exit once she arrived at Goldborne's Mansion.
Sure enough, five minutes later, the grand gates of Goldborne's Mansion loomed into view, and to her dismay, Allen's motorcycle was still trailing behind the taxi. With the street now quieter, his presence was even more conspicuous. Azura's heart raced as she contemplated what to do next.
Torn between fear and uncertainty, Azura took a deep breath. She signaled for the taxi to pull up to the entrance of the mansion.
Quickly, Azura leaned forward slightly and addressed the taxi driver, her voice calm but firm. "Once they open the gates, just drive in," she instructed, noting the driver's apprehension at the sight of the imposing mansion.
The driver nodded in response, his eyes darting nervously towards the grand entrance of Goldborne's Mansion. "Got it," he replied, his voice tinged with a hint of unease.
Following her instructions, the gates opened smoothly, allowing the taxi to slide in without hesitation.
Azura stole a quick glance behind her, her eyes scanning for any sign of Allen. To her shock and confusion, she watched as Allen effortlessly bypassed the guards stationed at the gates, without so much as a question or second glance.
The sight left Azura stunned and bewildered. She had expected the guards to intercept Allen, to question him or at least inquire about his presence. Instead, he seemed to glide past them with ease, leaving Azura grappling with a flood of unanswered questions. Discover stories with empire
Azura's mind raced with confusion and panic. "How is that possible?" she wondered, her thoughts spinning with questions and uncertainty.
But amidst her panic, Azura couldn't shake the feeling that perhaps Emma had misunderstood something. She resolved to explain everything once they reached the entrance of the mansion. There, she hoped to unravel the mystery of Allen's unexpected presence and discover his connection to the Goldborne family.
