Though Old Madam Murong wanted to flip at Chen Mi, she decided to hold it down. She knew that Yu Dong really respected her husbands and did not like it if anyone disrespected them, so even though she was not happy with the tone that Chen Mi used while talking to her, Old Madam Murong was still smart enough to restrain her temper.

She sat down on the couch that was softer than her bed and then turned to look at Yu Dong who was completely at ease. Old Madam Murong exchanged a look with Murong Tai and silently questioned her daughter, 'Why does it look like Miss Yu Dong is not worried about our visit?'

'I don't know,' Murong Tai was also surprised by the calmness that Yu Dong was showing as she could not understand why Yu Dong was not panicking in the slightest. If she was in her shoes, then Murong Tai would at least be worried a little but Yu Dong looked completely comfortable. It was as if they were here to question her about how she liked today's weather.

Old Madam Murong turned her head away from Murong Tai. She now faced Yu Dong who smiled at her and asked, "Would you like some tea? I have bought a really nice tea set a few days ago. Maybe we can use that today?" As she spoke she turned to look at Chen Mi who grumbled but went inside the kitchen to make tea.

Only then did Yu Dong turn to look at Old Madam Murong and Murong Tai before adding swiftly, "I apologize. My husband is still a bit young and he is rather impulsive. I would like it if you do not take his actions to heart. He might be a bit temperamental but he is straightforward."

Though Yu Dong was apologizing, she was standing firmly on Chen Mi's side. By saying that he was straightforward, she was basically saying that Chen Mi spoke the truth just now.

Old Madam Murong also understood what Yu Dong was saying and though she was upset with what she said, Old Madam Murong did not dare to lose her temper at Yu Dong. She only pursed her lips and then after a soft sigh said, "Madam Yu, we are not here to fight. But instead, we are here to demand an explanation."

"Second Madam Yu promised us that Miss Tong would be marrying my son as her official husband but now we are hearing that someone else is chosen as the official husband of Miss Tong. This is going back on the promise that Second Madam Yu made to us!"

"If she is the one who made that promise, then you need to go and ask her about this," Yu Dong calmly replied as she waved her hand. "Second Madam Yu was the one who made the promise, so why are you here to ask me for an explanation?"

Old Madam Murong and Murong Tai were silent.

The two of them did not think that Yu Dong would pass the buck to Second Madam Yu like this.

"It doesn't matter who made the promise," Murong Tai spoke after a long pause, she looked at Yu Dong and then stated, "We have given betrothal gifts including my brother's childhood jade bracelet to Second Madam Yu, which she has accepted. So how could your family go back on the promise that you made?"

Yu Dong's smile widened even further as she leaned back on the couch. She did not answer Murong Tai's question, instead, she asked, "How long did it take for you to find out about the rumour that Ah Tong was threatening to jump off the cliff?"

Murong Tai frowned when she heard Yu Dong's question but she still pursed her lips and after a second replied, "Around an hour or so?"

But what did this question have to do with the things that they were saying to Yu Dong?

"That's right. You found out about this piece of news in just a few hours, then does it not mean that you also knew about the fact that Ah Tong separated from her mother?" Yu Dong tied the noose that she had woven around the necks of the mother and daughter pair who stiffened.

Seeing the expression on the face of the two, Yu Dong smirked. She crossed one of her legs over the other and then said, "I have nothing against you if you want to act smart. But I really hate it when people like to play me like a clown. I might have been one before but I am no longer one."

"That——"

"Oh. Take it easy, Old Madam Murong," Yu Dong motioned Old Madam Murong to calm down as she continued, "I know what you are going to say. You want to tell me that Ah Tong is my aunt's daughter and that my aunt has the right to fix her marriage as she is Ah Tong's biological mother, right?"

"That's right," Old Madam Murong heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that Yu Dong was willing to understand. However a second later, she heard Yu Dong say,

"Did it never occur to you that maybe you needed to fix the engagement with Ah Tong being in the room? As the two of them have separated, there are obviously many differences between the two," Yu Dong stated as Chen Mi came out of the kitchen and then placed the teacups on the table.

"Or maybe you knew that if Ah Tong was in the room, she might refuse the engagement?" Her eyes sharpened as she looked at Old Madam Murong and Murong Tai who went back to being stiff.

They looked at Yu Dong who was staring at them like a predator and did not know what to say.
