Chapter 57 A Beautiful Melody
*Tzzzzt*
The three-inch-long lightning bolt hit him with the force of a giant hammer. His Mana Barrier instantly shattered like glass before impacting his defenseless body. His chef's jacket exploded into pieces, and for the first time in a while, Lucian's body moved, but not in the way he wanted. He was sent flying, crashing into the opposite wall.
Without giving him a moment to breathe, Lucian's hair stood on end as the second lightning bolt, six inches in length, began to crackle with an ominous energy. With each second that passed, the power that it radiated increased until it began radiating a power similar to a Tendon Tempering Realm Mage.
However, even though Lucian was only a Mana Condensation Realm Mage, he remained indifferent. Such a level of power was still too weak to kill him.
A few seconds later…
*Tzzzt*
The second bolt of lightning shot off toward him, this time even faster than before. Even with his Dragon's Gaze, he could barely keep up with its speed.
Seeing the destructive lightning coming his way, Lucian hesitated momentarily before deciding not to use his Mana. His Mana was too weak. He would rather save what little remained for the last lightning, which was patiently waiting.
But as Lucian indifferently waited for the second lightning bolt to hit him, his eyes widened in horror when its trajectory suddenly changed.
Lucian wanted to dodge or at least tilt his head, but it was useless. He could only watch as the lightning flew into his nostrils.
"Argh!" Lucian screamed in pain as he vomited a mouth full of blood. The lightning raged within his body, destroying his flesh from the inside out.
If not for the invisible pressure binding him in place, he was sure he would be convulsing on the ground in pain.
Soon, cracks appeared on his Mana Veins. But as quickly as the cracks formed, they were repaired by his tremendous regeneration.
*TZZZZT*
[Fuck! You've got to be kidding me.] Lucian cursed as he glanced at the nine-inch-long lightning bolt heading his way. Its power was several times stronger than the second lightning bolt.
The second lightning bolt was still ravaging the inside of his body and now he had to deal with the strongest one.
… A lightning bolt that radiated the pressure of a Bone Tempering Realm Mage!
[My Primordial Draconic Incubus constitution can resist that, right?] Lucian asked jokingly, despite knowing the answer.
[Rest in peace, Host! It was nice knowing you.] The System solemnly said. However, it was not worried that Lucian would die.
*Ting~*
Suddenly, a beautiful, melodious musical note resounded in the kitchen.
'... Is that a zither? Who has the leisure to play the zither while I'm on my last breath?' Lucian frowned while captivated by the beautiful music.
The music seemed to reverberate from all directions and nowhere at once. It was like a protective invisible cloak wrapped around his body.
*Ting~*
Another musical note resounded, this time, causing Lucian to feel a profound feeling. His body felt a wave of comfort. Somehow, the pain of his inside being repeatedly destroyed had lessened.
*Ting~*
A third musical note resounded. This time, to Lucian's shock, the oppressive pressure binding him in place vanished.
'Th-this… How is that possible!?'
*Ting~*

Despite the loud noises from the kitchen, within the dining area, Lily did not stop her fingers from plucking her Soul Ensnaring Zither, floating in front of her. Her eyes were closed and her cute face was serenely calm. It was as though her earlier panic and worry for Lucian's safety was fake.
However, that was far from the truth, as she played the zither, internally, she kept praying:
'Big Brother Lucian, please be okay! Please be okay! Goddess Amaron please protect Big Brother Lucian!'
-------------
Of course, Lucian knew what a zither was. However, musical instruments were not classified as weapons, they were merely used for entertainment.
Unless… the novels and anime Chef Lucian read and watched were correct that a zither could be used as a weapon.
Suddenly, Lucian frowned.
'... This must be a type of Sound Magic. But why has no musician been able to replicate this until now?'
[Host, if you have the leisure to formulate thoughts, you must have time to dodge. So please dodge!] The System's earlier calmness was nowhere present as it hastily urged Lucian to dodge the incoming lightning.
Lucian faintly smirked when he sensed the worry in the System's tone. However, he knew the System was not worried about his life, but its own.
Now that he was free from those invisible shackles holding his body in place, he was much more relaxed.
The reason why every Mage in existence feared the Universal Tribulation was because of the invisible shackles that held them in place. All they could do was watch as their body was pummeled repeatedly by lightning until they either died or the Universal Tribulation ended.
*Tzzzt*
Lucian indifferently glanced at the third and most powerful lightning bolt, radiating a bone-chilling power. It was mere inches away from exploding his face into a gory mess of blood and flesh. Just as it was about to make contact with his face, Lucian smirked disdainfully and moved his head to the side.
*Boom*
The lightning bolt narrowly missed his head and impacted the wall behind him. However, the wall remained intact, without even a scratch, as if the lightning's terrifying power was completely absorbed.
Unless the lightning was at the level of an Immortal Mage, his restaurant would remain standing tall.
'Finally, the Universal Tribulation is ove-"
*RUUUUUMBLE*
Suddenly, the Defensive Runic Symbols protecting the restaurant's kitchen began cracking, Soon, like glass, they shattered. The floor tiles began peeling off, the lights flickered, and the kitchen equipment fell to the floor.
Within an instant, the impregnable restaurant's kitchen became a mess.
However, Lucian's focus was not on the mess, but rather on the oppressive, hair-raising Universal Tribulation above his restaurant.
"What the fuck!?"
At some point in time, a gigantic city-wide Universal Tribulation had formed without his knowledge.
