Chapter 58 Finally Finishing the Sous Vide Filet Mignon
[Did the Universal Tribulation transform because Lily helped me?] Lucian pondered as he gazed at Lily gracefully playing the zither. It was the only logical reason.
[Why can't novels stay as fiction!?] Lucian gritted his teeth.
Even with eons of knowledge, this was the first time Lucian had witnessed a Universal Tribulation transform because someone had interfered. Until now, he did not even know it was possible. After all, who in their right mind would interfere in a Universal Tribulation?

Thousands of hundred-foot-long lightning bolts were aimed straight at his body, each with the power to vaporize a Mana Soul Realm Mage out of existence.
[There must be a way to survive. Damn, think, Lucian, think!]
While his eyes remained fixed on the lightning bolts, each capable of vaporizing him even before touching his body, Lucian frantically pondered.
'There must be a way to survive this. There is no reason why the Universal Laws would want to eradicate me. I have done nothing wrong.'
Suddenly, Lucian's eyes widened. Because he had been too preoccupied with the lightning, he had forgotten that it was not he who attracted the Universal Tribulation. He was merely a bystander who got caught up in someone's mess.
Lucian frowned as he thought, 'What a rookie move.'
Then, without wasting a second longer, Lucian stood up and dashed to the perpetrator that caused this mess.
The Sous Vide Filet Mignon!
The Sous Vide Filet Mignon had plenty of resting time, and the pan sauce had already been finished; however, Lucian felt that the Universal Tribulation would only end once the dish was plated.
From a cabinet, Lucian grabbed a white, gold-rimmed plate and a matching ramekin with the same color and design as the plate.
Although Lucian did not believe in the philosophy the customer was always right, he had to admit that the customer at least had the right to pour as much or as little pan sauce as they wanted.
As long as they do not ask for too much…
Everyone was different and had different taste buds.
Using a ladle, Lucian filled the ramekin almost to the brim with the mouth-watering, brown, velvety pan sauce.
*RUUUUMBLE*
Suddenly, the dark red cloud within the kitchen crackled and rapidly shrunk. Once it shrunk to the size of a grain of salt, it flew at the speed of light into the pan sauce.
Immediately after, the original brown pan sauce turned dark red. However, not even a hint of smell wafted from the pan sauce, causing Lucian to frown, wondering if he failed in creating it.
Suddenly, he froze, his eyes widened in astonishment as though he had just seen a ghost.
'Natural Sealing Runic Symbols! How is that possible!?'
With his Dragon's Gaze, he could see ancient symbols floating around the ramekin.
Although Lucian wanted to continue gazing at the Runic Symbols, time was not on his side.
[Once again, you will be the death of me.] Lucian was convinced
The last step was to slice the steak. His cutting skill was fast and pleasing to the eye. Within seconds, the filet mignon was cut into perfectly even eight thin slices.
*RUUUUMBLE!*
Another deafening thunderclap resounded, but this time, it shook the kitchen and almost knocked Lucian.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
After stabilizing his feet, Lucian's vision pierced through the ceiling and into the sky, where thousands of terrifying lightning bolts discharged electrical arcs.
'Heh, they seem to be furious.' Lucian smirked disdainfully and continued to watch as the lightning bolts raged, yet their arcs of lightning could never reach him. An invisible pressure kept them from reaching him.
A minute later, as though time had reversed, the lightning bolts slowly rose high into the sky before entering the dark red cloud. Then, the dark red cloud became smaller and smaller before vanishing.
Soon, the sky cleared, and the sun illuminated Thunderfall City once again.
Meanwhile, the residents of Thunderfall City cheered when they saw the terrifying dark red cloud and the even more frightening lightning bolts disappearing.
"HAHAHA! I'm alive! It must have been Ancestor Song who saved us."
"What!? Are you an idiot!? Did your brain get kicked by a donkey!? It must have been the beautiful and enchanting Ancestor Chu who saved us!"
"Who cares who saved us? I'm just happy to be alive!"
"This brother is going to visit the beautiful ladies at the Pleasure Pavilion. I deserve it after what happened today!"
"Oi, aren't you married with three kids?"
"Shhh, big brother, speak quieter."
"Fine… but only if you pay for this big brother of yours."
"Hahaha, if that was what you wanted, why didn't you say so earlier? Let's go, today this little brother will treat you well!"
Meanwhile, the four Ancestors of their respective families dazedly stood up from their kneeling positions.
After a while, the first to speak was surprisingly Zhang Ju, "It's over…?"
His normally stern expression was nowhere present. He was confused and even more so, thankful that the worst-case scenario did not happen… his death.
Despite the Soul Oaths the other Ancestors took, his family's safety was not guaranteed. There was still a loophole. The Soul Oaths only bound the four of them. If they wanted, they could easily command their family's experts to eradicate the other families.
And Zhang Ju was sure the other Ancestors knew of the loophole. At the end of the day, they were not family or even friends. If given the opportunity, they would gladly wipe out the other.
But sadly, they were equal in terms of strength.
After sighing in relief, Jie Deng looked at Zhang Ju, Chu Wen, and Song Liang before speaking, "That dark red cloud must have been related to the discovery of the Secret Realm. I don't believe an expert Mage has enough time to pull pranks on a weak city like ours."
Zhang Ju, Chu Wen, and Song Liang nodded and waited for Jie Deng to continue.
"In all honesty, I don't want to send my family members into that Secret Realm after what just happened. If even we, the strongest in our families, were helpless in front of that invisible pressure, then how can our descendants survive in that place?" Jie Deng said bitterly with a shake of his head and turned around to leave.
[But… this Secret Realm could also be the key to helping us improve. However, I won't force my family to their deaths because of my selfishness.]
Jie Deng's voice sounded in their minds.
After Jie Deng left, Chu Wen and Song Liang said their goodbyes and left the Zhang Manor.
The Jie, Chu, Song, and Zhang Ancestors had their own thoughts and ambitions.
