Primordial Draconic Incubus With A Gourmet Chef System

Chapter 63 Silent Death: Song Of The Forgotten

"I forgot to mention that gazing at Runic Symbols written in the Universal Language can even kill you."

Lily and Fenwick suddenly shivered, and their backs became wet with sweat.

Still with her eyes closed, Lily complained in a terrified tone, "Big Brother Lucian, that is something you should mention from the beginning. What if Lily died?"

Lucian wanted to tease her but decided against it after hearing her terrified voice and seeing her trembling body.

"With how weak the natural Sealing Runic Symbols on the pan sauce are, you would have only sustained minor eye damage," Lucian said to alleviate her worry.

After hearing Lucian's words, Lily and Fenwick sighed in relief and opened their eyes.

Then, Lily looked at Lucian, and pouted, "Big Brother Lucian almost scared Lily to death."

Lucian did not say anything and pointed at the ramekin and continued in a serious tone, "If you want to eat the real dish, you must first break the natural Sealing Runic Symbols inscribed on the ramekin."

*Gulp*

Lily nervously gulped after hearing Lucian's serious tone.

After a moment of silence, she nodded and asked with anticipation, "How does Lily break it?"

Her beautiful eyes stared at Lucian with hungry eyes like a predator eyeing its prey.

Being stared at with such intensity and passion, Little Lucian twitched in excitement.

'Not now, buddy! You have to be patient!' Lucian advised, and hastily forced it down with Mana.

After a long moment of silence, Lucian explained solemnly, "It's quite simple, like I said, the natural Sealing Runic Symbols are weak, with your Mana Vein Tempering Realm Mage Rank, you can just about destroy them."

"Remember to use your strongest attack," Lucian added after a thought.

Lily hesitated, in her entire life, this was the first time she was asked to attack her food. It would have made sense if she was told to attack a Magical Beast that was still alive. Yet, she was asked to attack an already-cooked dish.

Meanwhile, Fenwick watched with bated anticipation.

'Just how delicious would a dish that has been sealed by the Universe be?"

After taking a deep breath, Lily stood up and distanced herself from the ramekin.

"Come here." She said much to Lucian's bewilderment but soon understood as he watched the zither beside the table dash off before coming to a halt before Lily.

Once her Soul Ensnaring Zither was floating in front of her, Lily smiled and placed her dainty fingers on the top string.

"Silent Death-," She muttered in a bone-chilling tone that sent chills up Fenwick's spine.

Suddenly, the atmosphere she radiated changed from a lively and innocent young woman to that of a Death God.

At the same time, the beautiful zither began glowing eerie black while radiating a deadly aura.

"Song Of The Forgotten!"

"Ting~ Ting~ Ting~ Ting~ Ting~"

In quick succession, Lily plucked her zither five times, each time, the Death Element surrounding the zither grew stronger, until finally, five deadly black arcs shot out from the zither and rushed at the ramekin.

Like a knife through butter, the five glowing natural Sealing Runic Symbols were cleanly sliced into two before disappearing.

'The Runic Symbols were sliced that easily?' Fenwick was bewildered and could not believe his eyes. Just to be sure, he even rubbed his eyes, then closed them, yet after opening them, what he saw before did not change. The Runic Symbols had truly been sliced.

Meanwhile, after seeing that her attack had succeeded, Lily threw her zither into her spatial ring and jumped up and down like a cheerleader.

"Yay, Lily did it!" She cheered with the happiest, most beautiful smile ever, causing Lucian's heartbeat to accelerate.

After composing himself, Lucian smiled at Lily and nodded.

"Mm. Good job, Lily."

"T-thank you," Lily stammered in a tiny voice, with her cheeks flushed red. For some reason, when Lucian praised her, she felt like butterflies were dancing in her stomach. It was uncomfortable, yet pleasant.

Suddenly, while Lily was trying to understand what she was feeling, an unexpected phenomenon happened.

*Boom*

The silent restaurant reverberated with powerful, rhythmic thumps. Each powerful thump caused Lucian, Lily, and Fenwick's hearts to beat in sync.

"W-what is this feeling!?" Fenwick spoke tremblingly. He gulped nervously, then continued, "Those thumps are l-like…"

"Like a gorilla thumping its chest.' Lucian continued for Fenwick. He was also surprised by the sound.

'Once again, the System will be the death of me one day.' Lucian thought bitterly, having an inkling as to what would soon happen.

Then, from the ramekin, a deep, powerful, resonant roar filled the dining area.

*ROOOOAAAAAAR*

Immediately, everyone snapped their attention to the source of the terrifying roar — the ramekin, which was now glowing a malevolent bloody-red color.

*BOOM*

With a loud explosion, the ramekin exploded, sending shrapnel flying everywhere.

However, Lucian, Lily, and Fenwick's gazes did not falter as they stared at the dark red liquid hovering in the air.

Unconsciously, their noses sniffed the aroma, and instantly their bodies began swaying. Their eyes glazed, and their faces reddened with intoxication.

The aroma of the dark red pan sauce was incomparably potent, as it instantly enveloped the restaurant in a red mist. Soon, as if the aroma did not have enough room, it seeped through the underside of the entrance door and out into the city.

The residents, who were cheering and celebrating after surviving a catastrophe, were immediately engulfed by the red mist. Like dominoes, their bodies haphazardly collapsed. Some fell on the dirty ground, some collapsed on top of each other, and some remained standing while sleeping.

Immediately, the entire city's residents fell asleep, except for the four Bone Tempering Realm Ancestors, who were barely standing with tipsy faces. And the most shocking of all, the children were completely unaffected by the red mist. It was as though the red mist had a mind of its own and did not target them.
