Chapter 64 Birth Of An Immortal Magical Beast
If one looked closely, the red mist did not penetrate the children's bodies through their pores. Instead, it created a barrier that prevented the smell from affecting them.
"Mommy, Daddy, wake up! Wu, wu, wu. What happened to the both of you!? Someone save my Mommy and Daddy!" A young girl began crying while shaking her parents, yet they would not wake up.
"Hehehe, *hic* little Cao daddy is too *hic* drunk. Daddy wants to sleep." The middle-aged Cat-Kin said while asleep.
"*hic, daddy is right Cao'er. *Hic*" The mother said while also asleep.
The young girl was stunned before a happy and relieved smile graced her lips.
The young girl was not the only one relieved to see her parents were okay; all the children were relieved.
A few seconds later, as quickly as the red mist appeared, it slowly began receding back into the restaurant.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
However, the red mist that entered the residents' bodies remained in their bodies.
Meanwhile, once the red mist returned to the hovering pan sauce, it began to twist and turn.
*Roar*
With a final roar, a towering eight-foot-tall blood-red Drunken Monkey materialized from the pan sauce. Its massive form was both intimidating and awe-inspiring, with two dark red irises that seemed to shimmer like beautiful jewels.
The Drunken Monkey swayed unsteadily on its feet as if it were perpetually on the brink of toppling over, yet somehow maintained perfect balance.
Its mere presence caused the space around it to twist and tear, as though the world rejected its existence.
Sensing the rejection, the Drunken Monkey frowned and thumped its chest in anger, causing the entire dining area that should have been unbreakable and immovable by anything below an Immortal Mage to shake and break.
Lucian, Lily, and Fenwick stood frozen in shock, each with their own thoughts about the unbelievable phenomenon.
'I knew it! Damnit, why did I have to be right!?' Lucian cursed after breaking out of his shock.
After a few moments, Lily hastily hid behind Lucian and peeked out from behind him.
"What… What is that!?" Lily stutteringly whispered, too afraid to speak louder, in case, the terrifying Magical Beast heard her.
Fenwick looked at Lucian with frightened eyes. He could not care less what it was called and just hoped Lucian was strong enough to protect them from it.
"A Drunken Monkey," Lucian said and continued with a frown, "At least, that is what it looks like."
Lily blinked and asked, "What does Big Brother Lucian mean by that?"
"Drunken Monkeys are a very rare and powerful Race of Magical Beasts and are born the same as us. Also, they are not very aggressive unless they are provoked. Yet, the Drunken Monkey in front of us is completely different from what I have seen and heard. It was actually born from a dish!"
Inwardly, he added, 'And it was born as a freaking Immortal Magical Beast! No wonder the world doesn't allow it to continue staying here.'
'But why is it refusing to ascend to the Immortal Realm?' Lucian furrowed his brows, not understanding why the Drunken Monkey would go against the world just to stay here. Even a newly born child, without understanding how the world worked, would be instinctively afraid of angering the World Spirit.
"Senior, we can always analyze its body later, But right now, we should hastily escape, unless Senior can defeat it." Fenwick hastily advised, while being cautious of offending Lucian. He could not believe that, while there was a terrifying Magical Beast that could make space twist by its mere presence, Lucian and Lily were speaking.
However, Lucian ignored him.
'If it continues struggling, the World Spirit will get involved and then…" Lucian's frown deepened as he clenched his hands in frustration.
'Damnit, I can't let that greedy old bastard know I am still alive!'
With no other choice, Lucian breathed in a mouthful of air, and spoke to Lily and Fenwick, "You two stand back!"
"What!?" Lily's pretty pink eyes shone with disbelief. For some reason, she felt an ominous feeling, causing her heart to ache.
However, before she could respond, Fenwick happily nodded.
'Finally!' He thought and dragged Lily a safe distance away.
"Wait! Uncle, Stop! Stop! Don't leave Big Brother Lucian!" Lily screamed and thrashed, but alas, without being able to use her Soul Ensnaring Zither, she was powerless to stop Uncle Fenwick.
"Don't worry, Lily. Senior is much more powerful than you think." Fenwick said and continued while pointing at Lucian's now indifferent face, "See, he is not scared."
Lily followed Uncle Fenwick's finger and looked at Lucian indifferently gazing at the terrifying Drunken Monkey.
"Bu-but!" Lily stutteringly spoke while crying.
Fenwick sighed and said, "We are too weak to help. If we were to go there,\\ we would just be a burden. It is better to stay here and watch silently."
Lily cried even more as the ominous feeling she felt increased. But she knew that Uncle Fenwick's words were correct. She was too weak.
'It's the same as five years ago. Lily is too weak. Lily couldn't protect Mother, and now Lily can't protect Big Brother Lucian either.'
Meanwhile, once Lucian sensed they were a safe enough distance away, he exhaled and took a step toward the towering blood-red Drunken Monkey.
After taking five steps, Lucian stopped just outside of the space tears.
"Hey, big guy." Lucian indifferently said, while waving at the gigantic Drunken Monkey as though they were long-time friends who had finally met again
Fenwick was speechless, and even Lily stopped crying as she stared wide-eyed at Lucian.
"How… can Big Brother Lucian be so calm in front of that terrifying Magical Beast?" Lily thought out loud. Her beautiful eyes stared at Lucian's figure in amazement.
As for the Drunken Monkey, for a fraction of a second, it stopped thrashing around, stunned by the Human's words.
*Crack-Crack*
Because the Drunken Monkey lost focus, more of the space around it cracked, forcing Lucian to hastily retreat two steps back.
