Primordial Soul's Rebirth

CHAPTER 396 - Alex Leaving the Empire.

"You want me to take her with me?"

Alex could be seen sitting on his throne, his head resting on his palm, his body relaxing on the throne, and his legs stretched in a relaxed manner.

Instead of staying in his bedroom, Alex preferred staying here. No one would come here announced anyway—oh, some would, but those are the ones who would barge into his bedroom if needed as well.

This place was the most guarded place in the castle, and the castle was situated at the highest point in the Demon Empire. If he were to just stand up and walk behind his throne, he would be able to see the complete view of the capital city.

The wall behind the throne was something that could turn transparent if needed, and this was constructed by the first demon lord as well.

It was just so that he could get a complete view of the demon empire's capital and look for any crimes happening during his free time.

"Yes, my lord."

In front of him was Azaroth, on his knees after a long time. Azaroth never bowed to Alex unless it was absolutely necessary. He wasn't required to bow to Alex; he had the authority to not do such things.

But right now, he felt like he should kneel; he was making a request after all.

"Rise, Azaroth. You are simply stating your request—I was the one who asked what you desired."

Alex uttered, commanding Azaroth to get up.

He was now going out of the empire. He was done with the protagonists in the demon empire; there were none left. The only one remaining posed no danger to his authority, so it was fine for him to go now.

Yamel Parker, the last protagonist of the Demon Empire, was just a guy who wanted to stay inside his house with no one coming to disturb him.

Alex didn't even send some guys to make it so that Yamel never gets disturbed. He knew what that would lead to.

That would end up with whoever he sent to keep an eye on Yamel becoming that person's friend, and then, one day, when that so-called friend is in danger, Yamel would have no choice but to go help them, and once he did, Yamel would find himself getting involved with things he never wanted to.

Then somehow, this 'friend' of his would turn out to be a girl, that too, some princess or someone important who is on a run and is hiding their identity.

It sounds absurd, but this is how it goes most of the time.

In the end, willingly, or maybe because of some promise he made along the way, or maybe because of him feeling responsible for something, Yamel would think that becoming the demon lord is the best choice.

Alex did the best thing he thought in this situation, and that was to send someone to keep an eye on the people close to Yamel and never interfere until they seemed to be facing some serious problem.

Once the problem is serious enough and there's a chance that Yamel would have to fight, just show the imperial insignia that he had given them and solve the problem without any violence.

That was how he took care of the demon empire's protagonists. But there were many more protagonists around the world, maybe 8 or 9 more, with every empire having around 2 protagonists.

Now Alex was going out to take care of them, but before he did that, he needed someone strong and wise to sit on the throne as his substitute.

There was only one person he could think of when he thought of that, and it was Azaroth Voidheart, the demon ancestor.

When Alex put forth his offer to Azaroth, the guy was a bit hesitant, but he finally relented under Ale's sincere eyes.

That was when Alex gave him a wish, telling him to ask for anything he wanted in exchange for the service he was going to do for Alex.

That was when Azaroth's eyes widened in surprise, but soon it was replaced by hope as he bowed his head and asked just one thing.

"I humbly request, my lord, that you take my granddaughter Seraphyra with you. No matter where your path may lead, I ask only this of you, my lord."

That request surprised Alex a bit, causing him to raise a brow, but it was not after that he questioned, leading the situation to as it was right now.

"As you wish, my lord."

Azaroth, heeding Alex's words, stood up, but his head was still bowing.

"Why do you want me to take Seraphyra with me? And did you talk to her before you made that decision?"

Alex then questioned, straightening his back and letting go of the relaxing position.

He was really curious about Azaroth's objective, and Azaroth soon answered that question.

"Just call it a selfish desire of a grandfather wanting to see his granddaughter enjoying her life, my lord."

The ancestor of the demons sighed, shaking his head in regret as he recalled how that silly granddaughter of his had only dedicated her time to growing stronger and nothing else. He really wanted her to enjoy her life a bit and make some friends.

"Hmmm..."

Alex, who could tell that Azaroth was speaking the truth, just hummed in acceptance but didn't say anything for now as there was still a question left for Azaroth to answer.

"As for your second question, my lord, what kind of grandfather would require his grandchild's permission simply to act in their best interest?"

He smiled lightly as he turned his head up, looking straight into Alex's eyes, and Alex finally relaxed back on the throne.

He was now sure that Azaroth wasn't planning something else; he was purely looking out for his granddaughter.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Alex, who had the memories of his lonely life in the orphanage, knew perfectly well how important friends were, and he knew exactly what kind of life Seraphyra had been living.

She never made any friends, or more like she couldn't make one as most of them would either be too scared to even look at her or they would just ignore her.

Bullying was not possible as she was the strongest in the batch, but pulling some pranks was possible, and it was done as well.

So, in all honesty, Seraphyra's school life was not the experience she had always thought it to be.

Alex was slowly realizing why Seraphyra was supposed to turn into the demon lord, an evil one at that, because she was supposed to be an antagonist.

'I guess letting her tag along wouldn't really be a problem.'

He muttered inwardly.

He did say before that he was going to prevent Seraphyra from turning into an antagonist, so he was going to stay true to it now.

'I'm sorry, my lord.'

Azaroth, on the other hand, passed an apology to Alex in his mind.

He wasn't lying to Alex, as the reason he gave was really something he wanted, but there was another reason why he was doing this—a reason he didn't dare to say in front of Alex.

He wanted Seraphyra to get along with Alex's women and become one of them if possible.

He knew well how beautiful his granddaughter was, and he also knew just how lethal her angel-like charm was. That was precisely why he was doing this.

Alex was the best man he had ever seen, and for him, there would be no better partner for Seraphyra; all he had to do was push them both close to each other, and things might just go like he wanted them to.

He knew that Seraphyra liked Alex—heck, there would be no woman in this world who wouldn't like Alex. So, his decision was not something she would not agree to.

Although Seraphyra didn't show it, she always wanted to roam around the world and enjoy her time, and Azaroth knew about it, so he was finally making it all possible.

He didn't care if he had to hide something from his lord for that; everyone could be a bit selfish sometimes, right?

He could put his family before his job sometimes, right? Find adventures at empire

"Alright then, I will take her with me."

Alex finally replied to Azaroth's request, causing the demon ancestor to finally smile in relief.

With this, he had done all he could do. He knew that anything after this depended on Seraphyra and Alex, so he would just let them be.

He would be happy even if she could just enjoy her time; that would be enough for him.

"Thank you, my lord."

Azaroth bowed his head again, a look of gratitude on his face as he clenched his fists, swearing to not let a single brick of the empire fall down in Alex's absence.

With that, it was finally time for Alex to leave for the empire of Ferox.
