The Princess And The Lord

Chapter 1278 Saved at Last II

1278  Saved at Last II

They finally booked an ordinary hotel which was not too far from the hotel where Lory and the others lived. Garrof then contacted Jason 'aka' Dirty Fingers, to cover Owen and the others' digital tracks and also create fake identities for them.

Garrof and Lory stay to find out more about what happened to Owen and the others since they separated from Garrof and Lloyd. Meanwhile, Lloyd, who lost the game of rock, paper, scissors with Garrof, is given the task of returning Mosh's car.

In the next room, Lydia had just finished showering. After several days of not having a proper bath, Lydia finally felt alive again. Lydia walked to the sink and then wiped the foggy mirror with her hand then stared at his own reflection for a long moment. Only now the reality finally hit her with the fact that the life she had built so hard for so long had been crashed and burned, it became even harder when she realized she had lost the only friend she ever had and she didn't know where to find her, especially now when she already excommunicated by her own organization, hence the chances of finding her friends is become nearly impossible.

Tears welled up in her eyes Lydia then fell to her knees and began to sob, soon after, all the anxiety, fear, and anger broke out like a broken dam. Her crying became louder and louder causing her whole body trembles profusely.

The truth is she was afraid to imagine how continue her life after this, she could not return cause she knew she would be killed but did that mean she had to run for the rest of her life, what kind of life is that?

Lory knocked on Lydia's room but no one answered so she peeked through the door to see anyone there, since she didn't find anyone she guessed Lydia must be in the bathroom. Lory invited herself in to deliver clothes and underwear for Lydia, then suddenly Lory heard a muffled sound from the bathroom. Lory realized what happened, she let out a heavy sigh then without saying anything she placed the new clothes on the bed and left quietly.

Lory went into the next room where Owen and Dan were staying. Inside the room he heard them having a chat.

"So your secret mission is with Princess of Lorient, huh?!" Dan sounded upset like a child who wasn't invited to play by his brother.

"Hey, at first I didn't know she was Princess Lorient, back then I just thought we were in the same boat and she seemed trustworthy and reliable thus we decide to worked together," Garrof defended himself.

"Reliable is a simple way of saying it" Owen said sarcastically, he was also upset not knowing Lory's identity sooner, if he knew he would have insisted to join in, heck he will follow them regardless!

Garrof knew this so of course he wouldn't reveal Lory's identity to this stubborn brat, "Hey, I was just as surprised as you were when I found out about her higness identity," Garrof throwing a beer bottle at Owen as a truce offering.

"Oh, how do you know her identity?" Dan's eyes glittered with anticipation.

"Just like you, he saved us" Garrof scratched his jaw while remembering what happened at that time "Oh, you should see, we were bombed by airplanes until part of a mountain was destroyed by that attack there is no doubt we will definitely die from that attack no It doesn't matter what protection we use, but Princess Lorient protects us with her famous Lorient Shield... you must have heard how strong the Lucient family's shield is, right, but you have to feel it for yourself, that shield is very beautiful and majestic you cannot feel unsave inside that shield!" Garrof gesticulated wildly while excitedly telling his story.

Both Dan and Owen listen while making ' Ohhh and Wooaa' expression.

"And Putri's husband isn't messing around either, Owen, you better shut up when you talk to him!" Garrof didn't forget to sterly warn the stupid boy who had a habit of making people angry within two minutes of the conversation.

"Truly?" Owen pouted, Zhao Li Xin's condescending smile suddenly flash in his memory.

He remembered a man with gorgeous appearance he got refined demeanor that exude noble aura in his every moves as if it engrained to his bones, He still felt humiliated by zhao Li Xin cause he hiding his real abilities, Owen knew it was his foolish pride that make him didn't have good impression about Zhao Li Xin, but now he knew he was Princess Lorient's husband he didn't knew hoe to feel about the man, well,If Zhao Li Xin knew what Owen was feeling right now, he would...not care.

"Well, since he is princess Lorient husband, we can assume he is not an ordinary man, right?" Dan had no trouble accepting it, ever since he saw Zhao Li Xin's abilities he could guess that the man was more than meets the eye.

Lory embarassed to hear them talking about her furthermore thus she delibaratedly flung the door open and called them loudly "Hey, you guys don't talk about me right?!"

"Your highness!"

Dan and Owen jumped out of bed while Garrof was amused by their strong reaction, but that is to be expected. Garrof got up from the chair and politely invited Lory to sit down like a true gentleman.

"I was just recounting what happened the last few weeks," Garrof said.

"A lot of things happened, right?" Lory sat down, crossing her legs gracefully.

Garrof opened the small fridge and then asked "What would you like zprincess, Poko-pop or mineral water,?"

"Mineral Water is fine" Lory replied.

Garrof took the mineral water and then handed it to Lory.

"So how did you guys become famous among Paladins and Dragxtarn?" Lory half-jokingly said while opening the bottle cap.

Dan tilted his head as he recalled what had happened, and then he began to tell the story, "About two weeks ago, Lydia suddenly came to the apartment where we lived, luckily we weren't out hunting at that time."

"You guys still hunting?" Lory was surprised.

Owen felt a little offended "Um, we are professional hunters, although not as strong as Garrof and Lloyd but we can still accept B-level jobs"

"Yes, Jack gave us the task of clearing a village surrounded by Wild Hounds, a simple job but the location is outside the city, I don't know why Jack sent us there...but I think I now know why" Dan looked at Garrof meaningfully.

Garrof smiled shyly, "I think Jack is worried about you getting involved with us because Argus is chasing us"

"What, How could Argus —" Owen and Dan were stunned, they wanted to ask further but Garrof stopped them.

"Later! Continue your story" Garrof raised his hand dismissively.

"Uh - eh, yes... actually it's a small village called Little Creek, I heard that it used to be famous for Orange orchard, so the local government wants people to return to cultivated the land again," Dan said.

"There have been a lot of tasks like that lately, since the world is peacefull the need for food is increasing every years, it's a good sign though," Garrof explained it to Lory while sipping his beer. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Well I'm not complaining, though it's a bit annoying to eridacated vermin like wild Hounds but overall it's an easy job and it pays quite well too" Dan shrugged "Anyway...somehow Lydia who lives faraway at the Wellington city managed to meet us in a remote village in the middle of nowhere."

Lory frowned while muttering "It's quite far, I wonder how he managed to leave Wellington" According to the information she gather, the Healer from the S.A.I.N.T. organization can not leave the city without the organization's permission and they not allowed to accept work without an official letter of permission from the organization as well.

Of course the Organization would justified their action by saying it's for their own good in order to lower their chance from being kidnapped or the possibility of the healer being taken advantage of by the wrong party but Lory knows that's just the way to say, 'You're as* is mine now!'

"I told them I would help one of my close friends to give birth her first baby, who located out of town..." Lydia came abruptly, she closed the door behind her then bowed respectfully to Lory after that she sat on the edge of Owen's bed proceed to continued the rest of the story.

"Since the Dark Age wars ended all countries focus to increase the birth rate in their country and Dolza is no exception, that is why they approved my request easily, perhaps it never crossed their minds I would runaway either, an orphan like me who had nowhere to go.." Lydia bitterly said, "From there, I book tickets to go where Owen and Dan whereabout, I already threw out my old cell phone before I left and I don't use any credit card or whatsoever since I landed but somehow they able to find us no matter where we are and very quick too."

"Ah, you remember they said he had put a tracking device to track us!" Dan suddenly clap his hands.

"That's impossible, apart from our phones, we've thrown away everything including our phones, we also used new numbers and no one knew our numbers but Jack, Garrof, and Lloyd!" Owen insisted.

"Let me check it!" Garrof collected their phones and then checked them one by one, he dismantled their phone to search for any weird bugs but he didn't find anything.

"Are they using new inventions that we don't know about?" Garrof forehead creased.

"That or there's something else..." Lory examined Lydia carefully and then beckoned her to come closer.

Lydia had no idea what lory wanted, regardless she followed Lory's orders obediently. Lory got up from her chair then check checked Lydia's neck and arms. Lory's palm hovered over Lydia's right arm suddenly on her wrist a strange rune symbol reaveal itself.

Lydia's eyes widened. "Since…since when?"

"There it is," Lory's face lit up.

Garrof and the others simultaneously gathered they all staring at the small symbol on Lydia's wrist in shock and awe.

"So this is why they were able to find you guys so quickly," Garrof stare closely and the rune symbol on Lydia wrist.

Meanwhile, Lydia felt sick to her stomach knowing that someone had put a tracking spell on her body, no wonder they let her go so easily it turned out they had been watching her all this time.

"Why it only now it show itself?" Dan surprised.

"It takes an unveiling spell to make this spell reveal itself," Lory said then gently pressed her palm on Lydia wrist. A moment later a faint purple light glowed for few seconds before dissapeared.

"It's safe now" Lory smile while softly patted Lydia's wrist.

Lydia rubbed her wrist after she was free from the tracking spell she felt a sense of freedom, "Thank you..." Lydia said sincerely.

"Don't mention it" Lory waves her hand casually.

"No, I mean...truly, thank you for everything and...I apologize for everything I said before..." Lydia feel embarrassed when she remembered how she spoke about Lory and her family.

On the other hand, Lory had completely forgotten what Lydia had said it took a while for Lory to understand what Lydia mean, Lory chucckles then patted Lydia's shoulder playfully, "Oh...it's okay, don't worry, I would have forgotten it if you didn't remind me~"

Lydia smiled in relief seeing Lory seemed trully didn't take her harsh words to heart. Lydia finally understood why the people of Harland admired Princess Lorient so much.

"So, why don't you tell me what made you decide to run away from the organization that raised you?" Lory asked.
