Chapter 1025: Unexpected Visit [Part 2]

The sound of forced coughing sounded in the background, but Lady Catherine paid it no mind. She stared at Ethan in shock, almost making the young man chuckle.

However, since this is no laughing matter, he used his willpower to keep the calm expression on his face from breaking.

"L-Lily is pregnant?" Lady Catherine stuttered. "You are going to be a father. I am going to be a grandma..."

Vincent, who had killed many powerful beings, couldn't help but wipe the cold sweat on his forehead he just nearly died from choking on a beef jerky.

Dying that way would be very humiliating, especially for a proud warrior like him who had done great feats to protect Midgard from the invaders.

'I really almost died.' Vincent was no longer in the mood for eating and even tossed the beef jerky in his hand angrily to the ground.

However, after his initial anger passed, it was replaced with happiness. After all, their family was about to have a new member.

The bloodline of the Valentin Family was very thin.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Because they were exceptional individuals, it was very hard for them to sire a child. So, hearing this kind of news was truly worth celebrating.

"I should take some time off from the battlefield and return to Midgard," Lady Catherine muttered. "I need to meet Lily and make sure that she's safe."

"That's a good idea, sister-in-law!" Vincent commented. "How about you stay with Lily until she gives birth? That way, she will be in good hands. Don't worry. I'll convince Father and Mother to give you a few months off from the battle. When they hear this news, I'm sure that they will approve of it right away."

Lady Catherine was only thinking of staying for a few weeks in Midgard. But after hearing Vincent's statement, she thought that it was indeed a good idea.

This was going to be her first grandchild and Ethan's first son.

No matter what happened, Lily must give birth safely no matter what.

"Very well. I will also talk to Father and Mother about it," Lady Catherine stated, a look of determination appearing on her face. "Still, I thought that you were going to wait until both of you graduated from the academy. How did this happen?"

Hearing that, Ethan proceeded to tell his mother about Lady Hecate's interference, making her and his Uncle's face turn grim.

"Damn..." Vincent couldn't help but sigh after hearing the real reason about Lily's pregnancy. "That lady is so petty."

Lady Catherine nodded. However, she was also very excited to hold Ethan's child in her arms. "Come, tell me more about what you experienced," Lady Catherine said after the initial shock had ended. "You fought against the Fomorians, right? What happened next?"

Ethan mentioned about the battle that happened in the sea, and the battle that happened on land.

When he reached the part where Insectoid Monsters invaded Midgard, Lady Catherine's and Vincent's expressions turned weird.

The two of them then exchanged knowing glances with each other and nodded at the same time.

They were aware of the plan of sending the Otherworlders to Midgard, so that people would become aware that a possible invasion could happen in the future.

"So that's what happened...," Lady Catherine muttered.

"Now, I finally understand why they did something like that." Vincent also nodded his head in understanding. “So, how are the invaders, Ethan? What can you tell me about them?"

"They're strong," Ethan admitted. "Very strong. In fact, if I didn't use Legacy Resonance with Lilian, things might have turned bad for our side."

Ethan hadn't been in his peak condition during that battle, so he had wanted the fight to finish quickly. However, the Insect Army seemed endless, so he decided to try a power that he hadn't tried in the past, and that was the Legacy Resonance.

The young man then told his mother and Uncle about his best friend, Nicole, who was currently possessed by the Primordial Progenitor, Baradiel.

Although he was reluctant, he was also forced to tell them about the time he thought he was brought to an illusionary world to meet the young Nicole.

"She snuck into a secret place within the Asta Residence and made contact with the Heart of Ice," Ethan replied.

When he explained that he had spent years in that illusionary world and watched Nicole grow up from a skinny girl to a beautiful young lady, Lady Catherine and Vincent couldn't help but give him cheeky smiles.

"You're amazing, Mr. Ghost," Vincent said in a teasing tone. "You even managed to make a girl want to raid a morgue so that you can have your own body."

"Mr. Ghost, you must keep good things in the family," Lady Catherine said with a smile. "I really like Nicole."

The subtle hint in his mother's words was very obvious, but Ethan pretended that he wasn't able to pick up the meaning behind them.

"Sister, I'm very tempted to go with you to Midgard to see my nephew's wives and fiancees," Vincent said in a serious tone. "Do you think Father will approve of it?"

"That... that will be hard," Lady Catherine pondered. "You have a special position here, so you can't be absent for a long time. At most, you could probably only leave for a week."

Vincent nodded. "I know. But I really want to see Ethan's lovers."

"Let's talk about this later," Lady Catherine said. "Now, tell us what happened next."

Ethan then continued his tale and told them about the agreement with the Fomorians, as well as the Golden Egg that he was safekeeping becoming their King.

This time, Vincent laughed out loud because he found the entire story very amusing.

"I also acquired the Slaughterer's Legacy," Ethan added, causing his Uncle to choke on his

saliva.

"Damn, you brat!" Vincent roared in anger. "Are you trying to kill me?! This is the second time you have done this!"

Ethan ignored his Uncle's ravings, and simply focused on telling his mother everything that

had transpired.

"Lilian is a princess of Eastshire?" Lady Catherine smiled. "Well, it doesn't really matter whether she is a princess or not. She's already my daughter-in-law in my eyes, regardless of

her background."

Lady Catherine then inquired about Joanne, wanting to know if she was being a troublemaker in the academy.

This was the one thing that she was very worried about.

"Joanne is behaving herself in the academy, and has also made a lot of friends," Ethan said. "Ramona is keeping her company, and they almost always sleep together like they did in the

Lands of Alastor."

Hearing the news of her daughter finally calmed Lady Catherine's heart.

However, a sad expression appeared on her face when she saw that Ethan's spirit was slowly becoming transparent.

"I guess time is up," Ethan said as he looked at his hands, which was almost see-through. "Mother, I'll wait for you in the academy. Lily will go to Southshire two to three months from

now."

Lady Catherine nodded. "I understand. I'll be there and make sure to keep watch over her."

Just before Ethan was about to disappear, his biological Father, Lleu, appeared beside Lady

Catherine.

He had heard everything that the young man had spoken earlier, and he was just as shocked, and happy like his wife after hearing his son's story.

However, he was a very awkward person and didn't know how to strike a conversation. Because of this, he decided to just listen from a distance, and let his wife do the talking.

But now that Ethan was about to disappear, he couldn't find it in his heart to not say goodbye

to him.

"Take care of yourself," Lleu said.

"I will, Father," Ethan nodded. "Please, all of you be safe until we meet again."

Lady Catherine hugged her son and kissed his cheek one last time.

"I'll see you soon," Lady Catherine said. "Take care."

Ethan smiled before his soul turned into particles of light, and returned to the Shire

Continent, leaving his parents and his uncle behind in the Lands of Saraqael, which existed to

protect their world.
